Objective:To measure the pleasure and suffering indicators at work and relate them to the socio-demographic and employment characteristics of the nursing staff in a hemodialysis center in southern Brazil. Method: Quantitative research, with 46 workers. We used a self-completed form with demographic and labor data and the Pleasure and Suffering Indicators at Work Scale (PSIWS). We conducted a bivariate and correlation descriptive analysis with significance levels of 5% using the Epi-Info® and PredictiveAnalytics Software programs. Results: Freedom of Speech was considered critical; other factors were evaluated as satisfactory. The results revealed a possible association between sociodemographic characteristics and work, and pleasure and suffering indicators. There was a correlation between the factors evaluated. Conclusion: Despite the satisfactory evaluation, suffering is present in the studied context, expressed mainly by a lack of Freedom of Speech, with the need for interventions to prevent injury to the health of workers. Thus, work activity is a construction of meaning, the conquest of identity, continuity and historicizing of men (1) .In the same perspective, work activity can promote health with a pivotal role, or contribute to destabilization, leading the subject to imbalance, which reinforces the premise that work is never neutral with regards to workers' health (2) .This research is based on the theoretical framework of the psychodynamics of work, holding the dynamic relations between the labor organization and the employee's subjective processes as its object of study. In these relationships, suffering plays a key role that articulates health and pathology at the same time. Health implies dealing with impositions and pressures at work that cause psychological instability, while pathology is related to failures in the ways of coping with suffering (3) .Thus, on the one hand, suffering operates as a mobilizer of investments in the transformation of reality, and the possibility of transforming reality, and on the other it gives pleasure to the worker. Objetivo: conhecer as influências da formação acadêmica e da Educação Permanente em Saúde (EPS) nos estilos de liderança adotados pelos enfermeiros no âmbito hospitalar. Método: pesquisa qualitativa do tipo descritiva, apoiada no referencial de Hersey e Blanchard. Participaram do estudo seis enfermeiros da rede hospitalar de Chapecó (SC), que tipificavam diferentes estilos de liderança. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas e analisados conforme Análise Temática. Resultados: os participantes sentiram-se pouco influenciados para liderar diante da formação obtida na graduação e ressaltaram dificuldades de integração ensino-serviço, que interferiram no exercício da liderança. Quanto à EPS, sinalizaram a falta de investimentos na qualificação. Conclusão: destaca-se a importância de o ensino na graduação fortalecer as práticas de aprendizagem da liderança e entende-se que a liderança é aperfeiçoada ao longo da vida profissional. Objective: to know the influences of academic training and Continuing Health Education (EPS) on the leadership styles adopted by nurses in the hospital environment. Method: it is qualitative descriptive-type research supported in the references of Hersey and Blanchard. Six nurses from the hospital network of Chapecó, Santa Catarina, participated in this study and typified different leadership styles. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed according to Thematic Analysis. Results: the participants felt only slightly influenced to lead during the training obtained in their graduation course and highlighted difficulties in integrating education service, which interfered in exercising leadership. As for the Continuing Health Education (EPS), it indicated a lack of investment in qualification. Conclusion: standing it was highlighted the importance of education in graduation studies to strengthen leadership learning practices and it is understood that leadership is perfected and improved throughout working life. Objective: To analyze the proactivity of nursing staff in a public university hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from April to June of 2015, with 347 workers at a public university hospital in southern Brazil, by means of a questionnaire composed of socio-professional data and the shortened version of the Proactive Behaviors in Organizations Scale. The descriptive and inferential statistics supported the data analysis. Results: Proactive behavior was identified in 218 (62.8%) of the participants. The proactivity means were associated with the professional categories and inversely correlated to age, and the period of time working in the health area and in the hospital. Conclusion: Individual factors affect proactivity at work and a strong presence of proactive behaviors facilitates the leaders in encouraging their expansion in the context of the work teams. ResumoObjetivo: Analisar a proatividade de trabalhadores de enfermagem em um hospital universitário público. Métodos: Estudo transversal realizado, entre abril e junho de 2015, com 347 trabalhadores de um hospital universitário público do sul do Brasil, mediante preenchimento de um questionário composto de dados socioprofissionais e da Escala reduzida de Comportamentos Proativos nas Organizações. A estatística descritiva e inferencial subsidiou a análise dos dados. Resultados: Constatou-se forte emissão de comportamentos proativos em 218 (62,8%) dos participantes. As médias de proatividade foram associadas às categorias profissionais e inversamente correlacionadas à idade, tempo de trabalho na área da saúde e no hospital. Conclusão: Fatores individuais afetam a proatividade no trabalho e a forte emissão de comportamentos proativos é um facilitador para que as lideranças fomentem a ampliação dos mesmos no âmbito das equipes de trabalho.
