ONCOLOGY NURSING CARE AND QUALIFICATION DEMANDS IN PRIMARY HEALTH CAREABSTRACT: The objective in this study was to identify the oncology care and qualification demands of nurses working in primary health care. Observational and descriptive study developed at the Health Centers in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The data were collected between October and November 2015. The research variables were related to education, length of professional experience, care demand and qualification deficiencies in oncology. The study participants were 84 nurses; 41 (48.81%) had graduated more than ten years earlier (12.04±6.99); 46 (54.76%) consider that their learning about oncology at the undergraduate level was insufficient and indicate no further qualification in this area after graduating. The main care and qualification deficiency demands involve the most incident malign tumors, the impact of cancer, oncology therapeutics and their side effects. The data evidence that, despite the experience in primary health care, many professionals feel the need for training that enables them to deliver specialized and qualified care. Las principales demandas de atención y de déficit de cualificación implican las neoplasias malignas más incidentes, el impacto del cáncer, las terapéuticas oncológicas y sus efectos colaterales. Los datos evidencian que, a pesar de la experiencia en la atención básica, muchos profesionales sienten la necesidad de capacitaciones que les habiliten a la atención especializada y cualificada.

Objective: To identify and understand the view of students regarding palliative care in paediatric oncology during a graduate programme. Methods: Exploratory research with a qualitative approach conducted in a school of nursing in Rio de Janeiro. Data were collected from September to November 2014, through semi-structured interviews with 20 students enrolled in the last period of a graduate programme. The data were subjected to thematic analysis. Results:The results produced two thematic units: the (un)preparedness of nursing students regarding palliative care in paediatric oncology and how the subject of palliative care in paediatric oncology is approached in the graduate programme. The students mentioned difficulties in providing this care and their lack of exposure to the topic during their graduate studies. They stated strategies to prepare for the provision of care, and talked about how the subject should be addressed in their curricular programme. Conclusion:It is necessary to expand discussions on palliative care in paediatric oncology during the nurses' graduate programme. Keywords: Palliative care. Oncology nursing. Education, nursing. A coleta de dados ocorreu de setembro a novembro de 2014, através de entrevistas semiestruturadas, com 20 acadêmicos do último período de graduação. A análise temática dos dados foi realizada.Resultados: Foram elaboradas duas unidades temáticas: o (des)preparo dos acadêmicos de enfermagem frente aos cuidados paliativos em oncologia pediátrica e a abordagem dos cuidados paliativos em oncologia pediátrica na graduação em enfermagem. Os acadêmicos apontaram dificuldades para a realização desse cuidado e a falta de contato com a temática no decorrer da graduação. Os entrevistados citam estratégias de preparo para o cuidado e propõem como o tema deve ser abordado na grade curricular.Conclusão: É necessária a ampliação da discussão sobre os cuidados paliativos em oncologia pediátrica durante a graduação do enfermeiro. OBJETIVO: Identificar como os acadêmicos de enfermagem avaliam o processo de ensino-aprendizagem utilizado na disciplina de Assistência de Enfermagem em Saúde do Trabalhador e a importância da disciplina à formação acadêmica. MÉTODO: Pesquisa quantitativa, descritiva desenvolvida com acadêmicos da Escola de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande que cursaram a referida disciplina. Foi utilizado instrumento autoaplicável com questões fechadas organizadas em Escala de Likert, abordando três categorias: objetivos da disciplina, metodologia de ensino e desempenho do professor no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Os dados foram quantificados através de análise estatística descritiva. RESULTADOS: Os 78 acadêmicos abordados apontaram a importância da disciplina à atuação profissional e a relação teórico-prática para um aprendizado com qualidade; há necessidade das suas participações na construção da metodologia de ensino. CONCLUSÃO: A avaliação acadêmica, importante instrumento de ensino, permite identificar ações que possam aprimorar a formação e atuação profissional do enfermeiro, inserindo o acadêmico como co-responsável.
