Parsley seeds [Petroselinum crispum (Mill.) Nyman ex AW Hill] must have germinations higher than 70%. But seed companies have found difficulties to get the minimum standards of germination established for this species, because of the slow and irregular germination after harvesting. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of nitrogen and potassium fertilization on the physiological quality of parsley seeds. The experiment was conducted in Bozano-RS. Factorial arrangement was 3x3 (3 doses of N and 3 doses of K 2 O). Increasing doses of potassium (0, 50 and 100 kg ha-1 of K 2 O) and nitrogen (0, 100 and 200 kg ha-1 of N) were applied. For the evaluation of the physiological quality of the lots in laboratory, a completely randomized design experiment was performed with the following tests: 1,000-seed weight, standard germination test, first-count germination, germination speed index, and electrical conductivity. Nitrogen and potassium coverage interfere with the physiological quality of parsley seeds. The best lots were obtained using the dose of 100 kg ha-1 nitrogen and 50 kg ha-1 potassium. Dosage of 200 kg ha-1 N will increase vigor and seed weight.

Space Distribution of Soybean Seed Storage Potential

The objective of this study was to identify the spatial distribution of the physiological quality of soybean seeds during storage from a production field of 39 hectares using geostatistical techniques in the 2012/2013 harvest. Seeds were sampled at geo-referenced points for the determination of physiological quality and spatial dependence analysis. The results were submitted to analysis of descriptive statistics, Pearson's linear correlation and geostatistics. The grid of one point per hectare and a georeferenced sampling mesh with spacing of 100 meters between points was efficient in the evaluation of the spatial variability. It was verified the existence of a negative correlation between the variable protein content and bed bug attack and a significant correlation between the intensity of bed bug damage and the protein content with the variables related to seed quality. Physiological quality is not uniform, particularly in relation to vigor, providing better diagnosis through interpolation maps. Precision agriculture, coupled with the monitoring of seed quality during storage, indicated spatial variability of quality from harvest to the end of storage. Areas with high rates of bedbug and unit damage presented low quality physiology and reduced protein levels. The geostatistics allows to determine the spatial distribution of the physiological quality of soybean seeds in the area of seed production, facilitating the decision making, regarding the areas to be harvested. DISTRIBUIÇÃO ESPACIAL DO POTENCIAL DE ARMAZENAMENTO DE SEMENTES DE SOJARESUMO -Objetivou-se identificar a distribuição espacial da qualidade fisiológica de sementes de soja durante o armazenamento, provenientes de campo de produção de 39 hectares por meio de técnicas de geoestatística na safra 2012/2013. Realizou-se amostragem de sementes em pontos georreferenciados, para a determinação da qualidade fisiológica e análise da dependência espacial. Os resultados foram submetidos às análises de estatística descritiva, correlação linear de Pearson e geoestatística. O grid de um ponto por hectare e uma malha de amostragem georreferenciada com espaçamento de 100 metros entre pontos foi eficiente na avaliação da variabilidade espacial. Constatou-se a existência de correlação negativa entre a variável teor de proteína e ataque de percevejos e correlação significativa entre a intensidade de dano por percevejo e o teor de proteína com as variáveis relacionadas a qualidade de sementes. A qualidade fisiológica não é uniforme, particularmente em relação ao vigor, proporcionando melhor diagnóstico por meio de mapas de interpolação. A agricultura de precisão, associada ao monitoramento da qualidade de sementes durante o armazenamento, indicou variabilidade espacial da qualidade desde a colheita até o fim do armazenamento. RESUMO: A utilização de sementes de alta qualidade é indispensável para o sucesso da produção agrícola. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da inoculação com Azospirillum brasilense e doses de adubação nitrogenada em cobertura na qualidade fisiológica e sanitária de sementes de trigo. Foram avaliadas separadamente sementes das cultivares BRS 220 e BRS Tangará, cultivadas com e sem inoculação de Azospirillum e cinco doses de nitrogênio em cobertura (0, 30, 60, 90 e 120 kg ha -1 ). Posteriormente, foi instalado o experimento de laboratório, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 2 x 5 (com e sem inoculante × doses), com quatro repetições. Além da qualidade sanitária, determinada pelo método de papel filtro, foi avaliada a qualidade fisiológica das sementes pelos testes de germinação, envelhecimento acelerado, frio, condutividade elétrica, emergência de plântulas em areia, comprimento e massa seca de parte aérea e raiz. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância, com comparação de médias para inoculação e regressão para doses de nitrogênio. A qualidade sanitária das sementes de trigo não é influenciada pelas doses de nitrogênio e a inoculação com Azospirillum brasilense. A inoculação das sementes de trigo com Azospirillum brasilense favorece o vigor (envelhecimento acelerado) para a cultivar BRS 220 e massa de parte aérea de plântulas para a BRS Tangará. As cultivares apresentam respostas diferenciadas à adubação nitrogenada para as características de qualidade de sementes. O aumento nas doses de nitrogênio até 120 kg ha -1 melhora a qualidade fisiológica das sementes da cultivar BRS Tangará.ABSTRACT: The use of high quality seeds is essential for successful agricultural production. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of inoculation with Azospirillum brasilense and nitrogen fertilization on the physiological and sanitary quality of wheat seeds. Seeds of BRS 220 and BRS Tangará cultivars were evaluated separately, grown with and without inoculation of Azospirillum brasilense and five levels of nitrogen (0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 kg ha -1 ). Subsequently, a laboratory experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with factorial arrangement of 2 x 5 (with and without inoculation x doses) and four replications. Besides the sanitary quality, determined by the blotter spot test, seed physiological quality was evaluated by the following tests: germination, accelerated aging, cold, electrical conductivity, seedling emergence in sand, and length and dry mass of shoots and roots. Data were submitted to analysis of variance with comparison of means for inoculation and regression for nitrogen doses. Sanitary quality was not influenced by nitrogen application and inoculation with Azospirillum.
