“…With a representational emphasis, internationalization is contextualized as a need for psychology to adequately represent the global population. For example, internationalization efforts might be made to analyze or improve the geographical representation of scholarship in journals (e.g., authors’ national work affiliations or participants’ country of residence), often in an attempt to address the overrepresentation of specific countries in Western Europe and North America, particularly the United States (e.g., Arnett, ; Begeny et al., , in press; Fradkin, ; O'Gorman, Shum, Halford, & Ogilvie, ; Pieterse et al., ; Piocuda, Smyers, Knyshev, Harris, & Rai, ). “…Besides that, other countries are competing globally; China, specifically, is being singled out as the model for science in the future (The Economist, 2019). Moreover, Fradkin (2017) shows that, at least in the area of Psychology, the publication of articles in English does not correlate with internationalization. We are facing a phenomenon that may have the opposite effect, further restricting the development of Business Administration science in Brazil, that could be disconnected to the social and practical issues that the country still needs to resolve.…”
