Effect of In Ovo Feeding of L-Glutamine to Chick Embryos

Abstract: In ovo feeding (IOF), injecting nutrients into the amnion of the avian embryo may enhance hatchability, gastrointestinal development and serum metabolism changes. “…This is most likely related to the in-ovo injection reaction, which is influenced by heredity, hatching egg quality, and incubation conditions (Uni and Ferket 2004). In broiler chicks, Rufino et al (2019) found that Gln in-ovo injection increased hatchability by 0.5 percent than the control (noninjected group).
