Background The psychological health (PH) of doctors affects the quality of medical service and is related to the safety of patients. The serious problems with the doctor-patient relationship in China can lead to long-term imbalances in doctor PH, and the poor PH status of doctors has raised scholars' concern. Current research mainly focuses on how factors such as social support and the impact of the residential environment correlate with individual PH. We continue this direction of research to see how the mechanism of social support impacts physician PH, also investigating the moderating effect of demographic indicators on physician PH. Methods Based on a survey of 399 physicians, a descriptive analysis of measured data was done using SPSS 19.0. Pearson correlation coefficient analysis was used to examine the correlations between PH and the social support rating scale (SSRS) and the demographic variables. KMO and Bartlett methods were used to examine the correlations between PH and SDS (a scale to measure depression) and between PH and SAS (a scale to measure anxiety). The method of factor analysis was used for multicollinearity tests, and multiple stepwise regression analysis was used to explore the demographic factors correlated with PH and SSRS. Two-way interactions in moderated multiple regression were used to test the moderating effect of education level and title on SSRS, SDS, and SAS. Resumo: Descrever a rede social e o apoio social de pessoas com doença renal crônica em diálise peritoneal. Pesquisa qualitativa, desenvolvida com 20 pessoas em diálise peritoneal, realizada em um serviço de nefrologia de Pelotas, Brasil. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre abril de 2013 e junho de 2014. Os dados foram produzidos por meio de entrevista aberta, semiestruturada e observação participante, sendo posteriormente organizados mediante o programa Etnograph v6 e, submetidos à análise de conteúdo proposta por Laurence Bardin. Estudo aprovado por um Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa mediante parecer nº 538.882. Identificaram-se duas categorias: a primeira, Eles me apoiaram! Apoio Social de pessoas em diálise, em que se abordou os tipos de apoio emocional e afetivo, instrumental, de informação e apoio de interação social positiva e em qual fase do adoecimento era mais frequente. Na segunda categoria, Tecendo interações: rede social de pessoas em diálise, em que se descreve os integrantes e os tipos de vínculos mantidos, sendo a família como eixo central nessa rede.Palavras-chave: Rede social; Apoio social; Insuficiência renal crônica; Diálise; Pesquisa qualitativa. Support network and social support of people with chronic renal disease under peritoneal dialysisAbstract: This study aimed to describe the social network and social support of people with chronic kidney disease under peritoneal dialysis. This is a qualitative research carried out among 20 people under peritoneal dialysis at a nephrology clinic in Pelotas, Brazil. Data collection occurred from April 2013 to June 2014. The data were produced through semi-structured and open interview, participant observation, and later they were organized using the Etnograph v6 program and submitted to content analysis proposed by Laurence Bardin. This study was approved by a Research Ethics Committee, under no. 538,882. Two categories were identified: the first one, They supported me! Social support of people under dialysis, there it was discussed about the types of emotional, affective, instrumental and informational support, about positive social interaction and also about which stage of the disease was more frequent. In the second one: Weaving interactions, social network of people under dialysis, this stage describes the members and the types of bonds that are maintained, having the family as the central axis in this network.Keywords: Social network; Social support; Chronic renal insufficiency; Dialysis; Qualitative research.

Resumo Os objetivos foram confirmar a validade do Guedes Tool, instrumento para avaliação do apoio social informal (ASI) para idosos, e estimar sua acurácia. Foi realizada análise fatorial confirmatória (AFC) com avaliação dos índices CFI, RMSEA e relação do qui-quadrado (X2) com graus de liberdade (gl). Para análise de acurácia foi verificada a área sob a curva ROC, valores de sensibilidade (S), especificidade (E), valor preditivo positivo (VP+), valor preditivo negativo (VP-) e o Índice J de Younder (J) para confirmar o melhor ponto de corte. A coleta de dados ocorreu com idosos de Natal e região metropolitana em 2018. Os critérios de inclusão foram: ter 60 anos ou mais, com níveis cognitivos preservados. Duzentos e seis idosos participaram do estudo de AFC e 197 participaram da análise de acurácia. As estimativas dos índices avaliados na AFC foram: X2/gl=1,33, RMSEA=0,04 (IC95% 0,025-0,054) e CFI=0,91. A curva ROC obteve área de 0,78 (IC95: 0,72-0,85; p<0,001) para a determinação de idosos com baixo ASI. O J de maior valor foi de 0,44 para pontuação ≤34, o qual tem uma S de 59,76% e E de 84,96%. O instrumento apresentou um modelo bem ajustado com quatro dimensões, segundo critérios da AFC. Apresentou boa área sob a curva ROC e boa E e S moderada para o valor de corte de 34 pontos ou menos para o diagnóstico do ASI insuficiente. Os bons indicadores de VP+ e VP- reforçaram sua acurácia desejável.
