The objective of this study was to evaluate the socioeconomic and nutritional assistance factors of pregnant women who are beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program and were attended at a prenatal service in the city of Recôncavo da Bahia. A cohort study was conducted with 250 pregnant women from the prenatal service in 16 Family Health Units from August 2013 to December 2014. A structured and previously tested questionnaire was used to collect data. Socioeconomic and nutritional variables were used. It was identified that the average age was 28.3 years, of these, 85.2% studied until high school, 72.4% of pregnant women reported having income less than or equal to two minimum wages, with a mean of 1,036.3 and 26.8% reported receiving the benefit. It was observed that 40% had a pre-gestational Body Mass Index of overweight, 38% presented adequate weight gain for Gestational Age; 90.57% performed more than 7 consultations and 75.6% reported that they made use of alcoholic beverages or stopped in the gestation. The Bolsa Família Program as an integrated strategy for social inclusion and economic development seems to have a protective effect on the nutritional health of pregnant women in the municipality.

Background: The Cash Transfer Program (CTP) is one of the main strategies to combat Food and Nutritional Insecurity (FNI) in the world and is primarily aimed at population groups subject to greater social vulnerability. Alagoas is one of the Brazilian states that has the worst socioeconomic indicators in the country. However, within its population, there are groups of people who are even more vulnerable due to a historical process of discrimination and social exclusion, such as the remaining quilombo communities, which make them more susceptible to FNI and its consequences.Objective: Compare the Quilombola people with the non-Quilombola population regarding the association between the condition of users of the Cash Transfer Program and the occurrence of Food and Nutritional insecurity and its associated factors.Methods: Data from two cross-sectional studies were used; the rst completed in 2015 with a probabilistic sample representative of families of the state of Alagoas, and the second completed in 2018 with families from Quilombola communities in that state. The Brazilian Scale of Nutritional Insecurity was used to de ne the FNI situation of the families. Both studies were approved by the research ethics committee. Ajusted prevalence ratios were estimated by Poisson regression with robust variance.Results: A total of 5,764 families were investigated (n = 3299 in 2015; n = 2465 in 2018). FNI was identi ed in 58.4% of non-Quilombola and 67.4% in Quilombola families. FNI was associated with participation in the CTP, lower economic classes, per capita family income ≤1 minimum wage, rooms in the household ≤4, families with children under 18 years of age, no home of their own, and households with four or more people. Conclusion: FNI frequency was higher among Quilombola families and, in general, among families using the CTP. Despite the correct targeting of the CTP, which assists a large contingent of the population in poverty, it is necessary to link structural actions to it to ensure socioeconomic increases that can reverse the scenario of low education and professional training, low income, and, consequently, less access to goods and services in a sustainable way.

Objetivo: Analisar a dinâmica espacial da desigualdade de renda e sua relação com o envelhecimento populacional no Brasil. Método: Estudo ecológico de base populacional utilizando técnicas de análise espacial e dados dois últimos Censos Demográficos Brasileiros. A modelagem espacial apresentou o Índice de Moran Global (I) e o Índice de Associação Espacial Local (LISA) através da autocorrelação espacial e correlação entre a desigualdade de renda, expectativa de vida e taxa de envelhecimento. Resultados: Observamos autocorrelação espacial significativa da desigualdade de renda (I=0,284; I=0,462; p=0,001), expectativa de vida (I=0,560; I=0,352; p=0,001) e taxa de envelhecimento (I=0,663; I=0,646; p=0,001). Os conglomerados predominantes foram encontrados nas regiões Norte, Nordeste e Sul do país. Os clusters das regiões Norte e Nordeste estiveram associados a maiores desigualdades e menores indicadores de envelhecimento. Houve uma correlação espacial inversa entre desigualdade de renda, expectativa de vida e taxa de envelhecimento. Conclusão: O envelhecimento populacional no Brasil apresenta uma distribuição não aleatória revelando correlações espaciais com a desigualdade de renda. Dadas as disparidades sociais e econômicas existentes no território brasileiro, a análise espacial mostrou-se um contributo significativo para a formulação de políticas públicas que respeitem as peculiaridades locorregionais.
