Nursing education has undergone many changes over the years. The development of new medical technologies challenges the present education systems to prepare nurses for the near future. The adoption and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is increasingly important for nursing teachers to be up to date with pedagogical advances, and prepare the nursing students with theoretical and technical-practical skills, through simulated situations, close to the reality of hospital units (where they'll be as professionals). The use of ICT in nursing education is essential to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and, particularly, to promote competences, being a challenge both for teachers and students. Aim: The main goal of this paper is to Identify and analyse the innovation in nursing education, i.e., how nursing teachers use ICT in the teaching-learning process. Methodology: We started with the question research: How do nursing teachers use ICT in the teaching-learning process? Data sources were online databases, including CINHAL, MEDELINE and PUBMED. The selection of the articles for the present review was made according to the titles and the abstracts. The selected papers were analysed using a content analysis method. Results: Findings revealed that the teaching of future nurses in laboratories using advanced technologies, such as mannequins and equipment that provide realistic simulations, and the use of ICT facilities, facilitate the pedagogical process, both in classroom and through e-learning methods. Conclusion:The results from the different articles suggest that ICT promote knowledge for students and these information technologies are crucial in nursing education and a great challenge for the teachers, helping to train professionals prepared to deal with the technological scenarios they will encounter in health institutions.

RESUMO Carlinda Leite é Doutora em Ciências da Educação pela Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade do Porto (FPCEUP), Portugal (1998). É Professora Catedrática nesta instituição e investigadora sênior do Centro de Investigação e Intervenção Educativas (CIIE) a cuja direção pertence. No CIIE coordena a Comunidade Prática de Investigação “Currículo, Avaliação, Formação e Tecnologias Educativas” (CAFTe). Desde 2009, é perita da Agência de Avaliação e Acreditação do Ensino Superior (A3ES) na área de Formação de Professores e de Ciências da Educação/Educação. Nesta Agência, organiza e coordena as comissões que avaliam os cursos universitários de Educação/Ciências de Educação em Portugal. Ainda no domínio da avaliação do ensino superior, participou em avaliações de cursos universitários na Croácia e na Lituânia. No âmbito de outros órgãos a que tem pertencido, salienta-se, entre outras funções, ter sido diretora da FPCEUP, Diretora do Programa doutoral desta Faculdade, Vice-Presidente do Conselho Científico-Pedagógico da Formação Contínua (CCPFC) que em Portugal avalia e acredita instituições, cursos e formadores de formação contínua de professores, membro do Conselho Consultivo constituído pelo Ministério da Educação sobre formação de professores, Vice-Presidente da Sociedade Portuguesa das Ciências da Educação.

A formação do professor do Ensino Superior se constrói em consonância com as novas configurações do mundo globalizado, isto é, acompanha as diversas tecnologias da atualidade, em um programa que seja altamente especializado e pronto para adotar as diversas estratégias que compõem o exercício profissional. Assim, esta produção tem como objetivo analisar um levantamento sobre a relevância das recentes publicações sobre a docência no Ensino Superior, enfatizando a didática e a formação profissional no âmbito universitário, condizendo com uma revisão literária. Os dados pesquisados permitiram observar que o cenário atual exige aprimoramento constante dos ofícios empregados para a docência, e esse aperfeiçoamento se refere, em especial, à prática pedagógica do professor como também a sua formação continuada. A pesquisa bibliográfica confere o perfil deste estudo, em um levantamento que resultou na seleção de 27 obras de abordagem condizente aos dias atuais, que atenderam de algum modo aos critérios estabelecidos para a inclusão. Em suma, percebe-se que existe a necessidade de reavaliação do papel docente, não apenas por parte dos educandos, mas também pelo próprio profissional, a fim de se aprimorar e compreender claramente a importância da pedagogia universitária para o seu crescimento, enquanto mediador dos conhecimentos nas Instituições de Ensino Superior. AbstractThe formation of the higher education professor is built in accordance with the new configurations of the globalized world, that is, it accompanies the various technologies of today, in a program that is highly specialized and ready to adopt the various strategies that make up the professional practice. Thus, this production aims to analyze a survey about the relevance of recent publications on teaching in higher education, emphasizing didactics and professional training in the university context, in line with a literary review. The researched data allowed us to observe that the current scenario requires an ever-steady improvement in the professions, and this improvement refers in particular to the pedagogical practice of the professor as well as to his or her continuing education. The bibliographic research confers the profile of this study, in a survey that resulted in the selection of 27 works of approach consistent with the current days, which met the criteria established for inclusion somehow. In short, it is perceived that there is a need to re-evaluate the teaching role, not only by students, but also by the professional himself or herself, in order to improve and understand clearly the importance of university pedagogy for its growth as mediator of knowledge in Higher Education Institutions.
