In the population of four major Brazilian blood centres, 73% were young (18–39 years of age), educated (71% high school and higher), 50% married or with partners and 37·4% expressed high level of cognitive SC and 19% of structural SC (Lucindo Zocoloto & Zangiacomi Martinez, ).
