The search for new treatment opportunities of personalized treatment among pediatric patients with rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a promising area of current research and clinical practice. The tumor molecular-genetic characteristics can be effectively used for more accurate prediction of the disease outcome, genetical therapy, as well as a post-therapeutic monitoring of the remission quality. This approach can be effective for selecting cases with aggressive behavior of the neoplasm in order to use the most intensive therapeutic approaches, but at the same time identify cohorts of patients who are indicated for less intensive (and less toxic) treatment without compromising oncological safety. This report provides the literature analysis and presents the characteristics of the conducted research of molecular genetic markers associated with RMS, carried out at the Belarusian Research Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology (Belarus).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
