ChemInform is a weekly Abstracting Service, delivering concise information at a glance that was extracted from about 100 leading journals. To access a ChemInform Abstract of an article which was published elsewhere, please select a “Full Text” option. The original article is trackable via the “References” option.
Key indicators: single-crystal X-ray study; T = 296 K; mean (C-C) = 0.002 Å; R factor = 0.044; wR factor = 0.118; data-to-parameter ratio = 19.1.The title molecule, C 21 H 25 NO 7 , has four stereogenic centres and crystallized as a racemate. It consists of enantiomeric pairs with the relative configuration rac-(1R*,2S*,3R*). The cyclohexenone ring adopts an envelope conformation; the dimethyl-substituted C atom lies 0.640 (1) Å out of the mean plane formed by the rest of the ring atoms (r.m.s. deviation = 0.016 Å ). The oxacyclohexene ring adopts a half-chair conformation, the hydroxy-and carboxyl-substituted C atoms lying À0.336 (1) and 0.419 (1) Å , respectively, out of the mean plane formed by the rest of the ring atoms (r.m.s. deviation = 0.002 Å ). In the crystal, O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a chain along the c-axis direction.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
