The main objective of this paper stems from the need to provide new insights into the competitiveness of the agricultural products distribution system in the Republic of Serbia, through determining the impact of customer contact as part of the agricultural distribution channel on the competitiveness of agricultural holdings. The survey was conducted on a sample of 126 farms from the territory of the Republic of Serbia through a closed-type survey (12 claims related to customer contact and 15 claims related to the competitiveness of the agricultural products distribution system; five-stage Likert scale), which was distributed electronically. The contribution of the paper is reflected in the results which showed that the level of customer contact (as part of the distribution channel) influences the level of competitiveness of the agricultural products distribution system (in the Republic of Serbia). The results also form the basis for further research in this field.
Small farms, which are mostly owned by natural persons, characterize the agricultural sector of Serbia. In order for a family farm business or holding to be successful, the following factors can be distinguished: the yield and quality of the products achieved, the prices generated for the products, and, of course, the decisions that are made in order to make the management of the farm more efficient. Given that consumers of agricultural products around the world are demanding increasing product quality, farms should work to improve competitiveness based on quality. The subject of this paper is the importance of the quality of the products for the sustainable success of agricultural holdings in the Republic of Serbia. The main goal of this paper is to provide new knowledge in the field of quality of agricultural products of agricultural holdings with the aim of achieving sustainable success.
The beginning of the 21st century has noted a change in the attitude of modern man towards health and the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. Thus, particular emphasis is placed on the importance of a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle. The importance of nourishing nutrition and health-related issues has been recognized and raised on the state level. Thus, numerous national campaigns promote healthy nutrition aimed at improving the overall health of the nation. Health in general, as well as healthy eating habits, are today very important political and economic issues in developed countries. On the contrary, in underdeveloped countries, food shortage is not uncommon. The Republic of Serbia has high-quality and healthy food, but consumer awareness regarding this issue is insufficiently developed. The aim of this paper is to determine the level of the consumption of organic foods by the student population and the awareness of good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. The research was conducted in the Danube Region within the Republic of Serbia.
AbstractAgricultural production is one of the oldest industries and it has a particularly significant social role to feed the world's population, which is experiencing a steady increase. Thanks to the general social and technological progress, agriculture has experienced a dramatic productivity growth over the last 100 years, thus successfully fulfilling its role. Agricultural production is influenced by a number of factors, the most important being human, biological, climatic, of agricultural land and others. Since the most important human factor is one of these factors, as it depends on improving productivity, increasing agricultural production and profits on agricultural land, it is of particular interest to study the understanding of the human factor behavior in the work process. Therefore, the paper focuses on the Planned Behavior Theory of the human factor and its motivation. In agricultural systems in which the human factor is under sufficient control, that is, with a sufficiently constructed organizational structure, managerial motivation theories are recommended for motivation. For agricultural systems where the human factor is not under sufficient control, that is, they have insufficiently developed organizational structure or in which it is completely lacking, selfdetermination theory, which is an upgrade of the Planned Behavior Theory, which provides an explanation of prediction of human behavior.
