This study aims to describe totaluo and describe the feasibility status of nike (Awaous melanocephalus) fishing businesses using totaluo. This research was conducted in Gorontalo City in December 2018-February 2019. The analysis used in this study was descriptive analysis, cost analysis and R / C Ratio analysis. The results showed that Totaluo is shaped like two triangles which are joined together at one end and are equipped with nails. If observed, totaluo is similar to other types of fishing gear included in the Scoop net category. R / C Ratio analysis got a value of 2.68 so that the nike fishing business (Awaous melanocephalus) using totaluo could be declared feasible to be carried out / continued because the R / C Ratio value 0
This study aims to describe the construction and operation of tagahu techniques in nike fishing in Gorontalo City. This research was conducted on January 5 to March 15, 2019 in Pohe Village and Leato Village in Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Province. The method used in this study is a descriptive method. The results of the study found that Tagahu is a long-shaped 4-piece jar with a pocket in the middle. Parts of the tagahu section are: 1) Main net, 2) Upper and lower Ris rope, 3) Buoy, 4) Ballast, 5) Buoy rope and Ballast Rope, 6) Capture rope, and 7) Buoy rope and Ballast Rope. The principle of Tagahu operation is generally similar to the operation of payang which is to wrap a net wing on a group of fish, then the net is pulled towards the boat. Tagahu catching can be done both at night and during the day. Tagahu's operation consists of: 1) searching of fish hordes, 2) dropping nets, 3) withdrawal and removal of nets, and 4) retrieval of catches. Keywords: Tagahu, Nets, Nike Fish
The development of boat technology and traditional fishing gear, which is still predominantly used by fishing communities in Indonesia, appears to be running slowly. This study aims to determine the adaptations and technological innovations that have been applied in fishing communities for the development of capture fisheries technology in Tomini Gulf. Data and information about fishing boats and fishing gear in the form of types, functions, sizes, structures, pictures, raw materials, and changes in shape, changes in function, as well as adaptations and technological innovations that occur are obtained by field surveys conducted in fishing villages. Other data were obtained through in-depth interviews with fishermen and community leaders using interview grid instruments. Adaptations and innovations that occur in fishing boats include the use of bodi hull types on ketinting (long-tail outboard engine) boats and the use of fiberglass and PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) pipe as substitutes for wood and bamboo as raw materials for hull and outrigger buoys. The lampu suntik (waterproof lamp of LED sircuit in a used syringe plastic tube) is an innovation made on the totabito squid fishing gear. Adaptation and innovation in fisheries technology occurs part-by-part (partial) and requires proving success to gain wide acceptance. Keywords: adaptation; innovation; techology; fishing boat; fishing gear; traditional.
