Die Korrosion des Eisens im Erdreich wird in Abhängigkeit von dem Verhältniswert „Wasser zu Bodenluft”︁ erklärt. In dem stromliefernden Element: Pt/Boden + Wasser/Fe, zeigt Fe je nach dem Sättigungszustand des Bodens an Wasser ein aktives oder passives Verhalten. Die Korrosionsgeschwindigkeit des Eisens ist vom pH‐Wert des Bodens abhängig, wenn die Korrosion an der Eisenoberfläche bei Sauerstoffüberschuß stattfindet. — Laborversuche mit Weichstahl‐Versuchsproben ergaben, daß die Korrosion des Eisens in einem an Wasser ungesättigten Boden als eine Reaktion 1. Ordnung, in einem mit Wasser gesättigten Boden dagegen nach dem Diffusionsgesetz abläuft.
Die Bedingungen nach denen die Korrosion von Blei im Boden in Abhängigkeit von dem Verhältniswert „Wasser zu Bodenluft”︁ verläft, werden abgeleitet und mathematisch formuliert. Im aktiven Zustand verläuft der Gewichtsverlust nach einer Exponential‐, im passiven Zustand nach einer linearen Funktion.
Blei, zeigt in verschiedenen Böden ein passives Verhalten das durch HCO3‐Ionen in ein aktives übergehen kann. In einem einer Kohlensäureatmosphäre ausgesetztem Boden verhält sich Blei passiv.
Das Verhalten von Zink 99,0 in wäßrigen Säure‐ (HCL, H2SO4, HNO3, C2H2O4) und alkalischen (NaOH, Na2CO3, NH4OH) Lösungen wurde in einem Korrosionsstrom‐pH‐Diagramm dargestellt. Einem Korrosionsstrom von i0=1mA entspricht für eine Zink‐Elektrode nut etwa 25 cm2 geometrischen Oberfläche ein Gewichtsverlust von 37.1 glm2·Tg.
Die Inhibition der Zinkauflösung in wäßrigen Na2Cr2O4‐haltigen HNO3‐ und H2SO4‐Lösungen durch Na2CrO4 läßt sich durch die Beziehung
darstellen, wobei k und l/n Konstanten sind, und c die Menge des zugegebenen Inhibitors auf 1000 ml Lösung bedeutet.
Es wird gezeigt, daß man die Korrosion von Weicheisen in verschiedenen Böden in Abhängigkeit vom „Bodenwasser‐Boden‐luft‐Verhältniß an Hand der Temperatur‐koeffizienten und Aktivierungsenergien der Korrosions‐Reaktionen des Eisens verfolgen kann.
Der mittlere Temperaturkoeffizient betrug in Böden mit einem Wassergehalt von 20% etwa 1,92 und in mit Wasser gesättigten Böden etwa, 1,7. Die AKtivierungsenergien der Eisenkorrosion in mit Wasser gesättigten Böden (Ton, Lehm, Flußsand, Infusoria) betrugen 9 bis 10 kcal und in solchen mit 20% Wasser 12 bis 18 kcal.
Nachdem über die Ergebnisse der mit kathodisch geschützten Eisenproben in belüfteten und unbelüfteten Böden durchgeführten Korrosionsversuche bereits berichtet wurde (Mitteilung I), wird in der vorliegenden Arbeit über weitere Korrosionsversuche berichtet, die mit kathodisch geschütztem Eisen im Erdreich zur Klärung des Einflusses des W‐Bd‐Verhältnisses durchgeführt wurden. Wie zu erwarten war, wurde der Angriff der geschützten Probe verringert, wenn der Boden die Sättigungsgrenze an Wasser erreicht hatte. Auf Grund der durchgeführten Versuche können quantitative, zuverlässige Aussagen über die Wirkung des kathodischen Schutzes auf den Korrosionsablauf des geschützten Metalls in Abhängigkeit vom W‐Bd‐Verhältniswert, der für die Aggressivität des Bodens maßgebend ist, gemacht und zur Aufstellung allgemeiner Korrosionsschemen für einen kathodisch zu schützenden Werkstoff herangezogen werden.
