Die Korrosionsgeschwindigkeit des Eisens ist vom pH‐Wert des Bodens abhängig, wenn die Korrosion an der Eisenoberfläche bei Sauerstoffüberschuß stattfindet. — Laborversuche mit Weichstahl‐Versuchsproben ergaben, daß die Korrosion des Eisens in einem an Wasser ungesättigten Boden als eine Reaktion 1. Ordnung, in einem mit Wasser gesättigten Boden dagegen nach dem Diffusionsgesetz abläuft.
