The interface is formed due to thermally driven atomic-scale concentration fluctuations of solid particles. To tackle this problem a microscopic model is suggested for describing the structure of the interface and the crystallization due to elementary particle exchange processes between the binary melt and the growing crystalline phase. The kinetic equation method is used to treat these elementary exchange processes of particles analytically. Especially, a qualitative new behaviour of the longrange order parameter and growth velocity of the binary crystal near the order-disorder point of the kinetic phase transition is found.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
