To improve the construction methods of Chinese solar greenhouse wall to enhance the heat storage, we proposed a three-layer wall with phase-change materials, namely, an inner wall layer built with the phase-change materials, an outer insulating layer and a load-bearing wall layer built with heavyweight materials between the two. Based on the field experiment and the proposed valuation indexes of the three-layer wall, the dynamic heat storage characteristics of the wall have been analysed and discussed. The experiment and simulation results showed that the three-layer wall can enhance the heat storage and thermal insulation properties of greenhouse wall, increase the utilisation rate of solar energy, improve indoor thermal environment and increase crop yield and quality. Therefore, these results validated the suitability and correctness of the construction methods of the three-layer wall.
Under dehumidifying conditions, the condensed water will directly affect the heat transfer and resistance characteristics of a fin-and-tube heat exchanger. The geometrical form of condensed water on fin surfaces of three different fin materials (i.e., copper fin, aluminum fin, and aluminum fin with hydrophilic layer) in a fin-and-circular-tube heat exchanger was experimentally studied in this paper. The effect of the three different fin materials on heat transfer and friction performance of the heat exchanger was researched, too. The results show that the condensation state on the surface of copper fin and aluminum fin are dropwise condensation. The condensation state on the surface of the aluminum fin with the hydrophilic layer is film condensation. For the three different material fins, increasing the air velocity (ua,in) and relative humidity (RHin) of the inlet air can enhance the heat transfer of the heat exchanger. Friction factor (f) of the three different material fins decreases with the increase of ua,in, however, increases with the increase of RHin. At the same ua,in or RHin, Nusselt number (Nu) of the copper fin heat exchanger is the largest and Nu of the aluminum fin with hydrophilic layer is the smallest, f of the aluminum fin heat exchanger is the largest and f of the aluminum fin with hydrophilic layer is the smallest. Under the identical pumping power constrain, the comprehensive heat transfer performance of the copper fin heat exchanger is the best for the studied cases.
Singular value decomposition (SVD) is a widely used and powerful tool for signal extraction under noise. Noise attenuation relies on the selection of the effective singular value because these values are significant features of the useful signal. Traditional methods of selecting effective singular values (or selecting the useful components to rebuild the faulty signal) consist of seeking the maximum peak of the differential spectrum of singular values. However, owing to the small number of selected effective singular values, these methods lead to excessive de-noised effects. In order to get a more appropriate number of effective singular values, which preserves the components of the original signal as much as possible, this paper used a difference curvature spectrum of incremental singular entropy to determine the number of effective singular values. Then the position was found where the difference of two peaks in the spectrum declines in an infinitely large degree for the first time, and this position was regarded as the boundary of singular values between noise and a useful signal. The experimental results showed that the modified methods could accurately extract the non-stationary bearing faulty signal under real background noise.
