More than 200 known diseases are transmitted through food. The causes of foodborne illness include viruses, bacteria, parasites, toxins, metals, prions, and the symptoms of foodborne illness range from mild gastroenteritis to life-threatening neurologic, hepatic and renal syndromes. In the United States, foodborne diseases have been estimated to cause 6 million to 81 million illnesses and up to 9,000 deaths each year. Milk borne pathogens caused serious diseases in the human which may be related to the raw milk, improper pasteurization of milk and milk products. Some biological tools are developed for the measuring of the contamination by the pathogens. Such species like Listeria, Salmonella and Campylobacter species. Such factors which involved in the contamination catalogue between the area where impermanent cattle confinement, low milk production, low milking machine cleaning frequency, and milk storage area.

The pattern of protein induction in tomato plants has been investigated after the applications of pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungal species. Moreover, particular roles of the most active protein against biological applications were also determined using chromatographic techniques. Alternaria alternata and Penicillium oxalicum were applied as a pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungal species, respectively. Protein profile analysis revealed that a five protein species (i.e., protein 1, 6, 10, 12, and 13) possessed completely coupled interaction with non-pathogenic inducer application (P. oxalicum). However, three protein species (i.e., 10, 12, and 14) recorded a strong positive interaction with both fungal species. Protein 14 exhibited the maximum interaction with fungal applications, and its role in plant metabolism was studied after its identification as protein Q9M1W6. It was determined that protein Q1M1W6 was involved in guaiacyl lignin biosynthesis, and its inhibition increased the coumarin contents in tomato plants. Moreover, it was also observed that the protein Q9M1W6 takes significant part in the biosynthesis of jasmonic acid and Indole acetic acid contents, which are defense and growth factors of tomato plants. The study will help investigators to design fundamental rules of plant proteins affecting cell physiology under the influence of external fungal applications.

Complement activation has shown a role in murine models of graft‐versus‐host disease (GVHD) and in endothelial complications after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo‐HSCT). However, its impact on post‐transplant outcomes has not been so far fully elucidated. Here, we conducted a prospective multicentric trial (NCT01520623) performing serial measurements of complement proteins, regulators, and CH50 activity for 12 weeks after allo‐HSCT in 85 patients receiving a myeloablative conditioning (MAC) regimen for various hematological malignancies. Twenty‐six out of 85 patients showed an “activated” complement profile through the classical/lectin pathway, defined as a post‐transplant decline of C3/C4 and CH50 activity. Time‐dependent Cox regression models demonstrated that complement activation within the first weeks after allo‐HSCT was associated with increased non‐relapse mortality (hazard ratio [HR]: 3.69, 95% confident interval [CI]: 1.55–8.78, p = .003) and poorer overall survival (HR: 2.72, 95% CI: 1.37–5.39, p = .004) due to increased incidence of grade II–IV acute GVHD and in particular gastrointestinal (GI) GVHD (HR: 36.8, 95% CI: 12.4–109.1, p < .001), higher incidences of thrombotic microangiopathy (HR: 8.58, 95% CI: 2.16–34.08, p = .0022), capillary leak syndrome (HR: 7.36, 95% CI: 2.51–21.66, p = .00028), post‐engraftment bacterial infections (HR: 2.37, 95% CI: 1.22–4.63, p = .0108), and EBV reactivation (HR: 3.33, 95% CI: 1.31–8.45, p = .0112). Through specific immune staining, we showed the correlation of deposition of C1q, C3d, C4d, and of C5b9 components on endothelial cells in GI GVHD lesions with the histological grade of GVHD. Altogether these findings define the epidemiology and the clinical impact of complement classical/lectin pathway activation after MAC regimens and provide a rational for the use of complement inhibitory therapeutics in a post‐allo‐HSCT setting.

Breast cancer is caused by uncontrolled growth of breast cells. It is more common in women as compared tothat in men. The breast cancer may be interlinked with the drinking of alcohol, smoking, sex, hormonal therapy, obesity,family history and age. Various epidemiologic studies suggest the role of metals e.g., nickel (Ni), zinc (Zn), arsenic(As),selenium (Se)and cadmium (Cd)as potential risk factors in breast cancer. Humans are exposed to these metals bymeans of drinking water, food and air. The oxidative theory suspects that the complexes formed from these metals invivo, near the location of DNA, catalyze the redox reactions which results in oxidation of DNA. The metals like arsenic(As), chromium (Cr), aluminum (Al), cadmium (Cd) and chromium (Cr)which exist in trace amount are considered ascarcinogens for organisms by IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer). The carcinogenicity of these metalsmainly depends upon their chemical structure and oxidation states.
