Accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of malignant tumors under the interference of complex and diverse tumor microenvironments (TMEs) have become the focus of research. Herein, an innovative TME-activated biomimetic nanocatalyst with quad-modal imaging capabilities of second near-infrared (NIR-II) “turn-on” fluorescence imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), photoacoustic imaging (PAI), and photothermal imaging (PTI) was designed and developed for self-enhanced photothermal/chemodynamic synergistic therapy. The catalyst was fabricated by loading glucose oxidase (GOD) and Ag2S quantum dots (QDs) on MnO2 nanosheets and coating them with a 4T1 cell membrane (AMG@CM), which enables them to successfully escape immune clearance and have appealing tumor-targeting ability and biocompatibility. The NIR-II fluorescence at 1130 nm of Ag2S QDs quenched by MnO2 could be recovered in vivo through the glutathione (GSH)-induced degradation of MnO2, enabling excellent TME-responsive tumor visualization. Simultaneously, the released Mn2+ can catalyze H2O2 to produce abundant hydroxyl radicals (•OH), achieving photothermal synergistically enhanced chemodynamic therapy (CDT) under NIR-II radiation. Moreover, the CDT could be self-enhanced by GOD due to the extra produced H2O2. This work demonstrates a novel and highly efficient multimodal imaging-guided integrated treatment strategy for dual-enhanced CDT tumor precise diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract:Laser scanning technology plays an important role in forest inventory, as it enables accurate 3D information capturing in a fast and environmentally-friendly manner. The goal of this study is to develop methods for detecting and discriminating individual trees from TLS point clouds of five plots in a boreal coniferous forest. The proposed hierarchical minimum cut method adopts the detected trunk points that are recognized according to pole like shape segmentation as foreground seed points and other points as background seed points, respectively. It constructs the undirected weighted graph of the foreground and background seed points to deduce a cost function for tree crown point segmentation with the decreasing ranking of tree trunk heights. The intermediate results lead to global optimization segmentation of individual trees in a hierarchical order. Finally, the structure metrics of the detected individual trees are calculated and checked with field observations. Plots with different attributes were selected to verify the proposed method, and the experimental studies show that the proposed method is efficient and robust for extracting individual trees from TLS point clouds in terms of the recall of 90.42%.

A series of novel 3-arylethynyltriazolyl ribonucleosides were synthesized and assessed for their anticancer activity on the drug-resistant pancreatic cancer cell line MiaPaCa-2. Among them, one compound exhibited potent apoptosis-inducing properties and anticancer activity against the pancreatic cancer model MiaPaCa-2 both in vitro and in vivo with no adverse effects. This compound did not inhibit DNA synthesis and therefore does not resemble the clinical drug gemcitabine. It did, however, significantly down-regulate the expression of heat shock protein 27 (Hsp27), a small molecular chaperone playing an important role in drug resistance and highly expressed in drug-resistant cancer forms, and thus represents the first small molecular anticancer lead with such a mode of action.

Chinese BeiDou Navigation Satellite System is officially operational as a regional constellation with five Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellites, five Inclined Geosynchronous Satellite Orbit (IGSO) satellites and four Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites. Observations from the BeiDou Experimental Tracking Stations (BETS) and the IGS Multi-GNSS Experiment (MGEX) network from 1 January to 31 March 2013 are processed for orbit determination of the BeiDou constellation. Various arc lengths and solar radiation pressure parameters are investigated. The reduced set of ECOM five-parameter model produces better performance than the full set of ECOM nine-parameter model for BeiDou IGSO and MEO. The orbit overlap for the middle days of 3-day arc solutions is better than 20 cm and 14 cm for IGSO and MEO in RMS, respectively. Satellite laser ranging residuals are better than 10 cm for both IGSO and MEO. For BeiDou GEO, the orbit overlap of several meters and satellite laser ranging residuals of several decimetres can be achieved.
