El líder como actor protagónico que marca pauta en el desarrollo de buena parte de los procesos políticos, psicológicos, sociales y culturales, se presenta hoy como fenómeno individual y simultáneamente colectivo que sirve de factor explicativo básico de los procesos de estancamiento o innovación, sucedidos en espacio y momento determinados; de ahí que en las últimas décadas han aflorado exponencialmente los estudios sobre liderazgo en variadas facetas y modalidades, hasta el punto de haberse configurado un frente interdisciplinario al respecto con abundante literatura disponible en la materia. Desde la perspectiva propia de la psicología política latinoamericana y basados en un enfoque crítico del pensamiento, el presente estudio tiene por objetivo analizar el perfil actitudinal de líderes innovadores, mediante el despliegue de un diseño documental en el marco de una metodología descriptiva y, partiendo de los aportes de Horkheimer, Marcuse y Habermas. Entre los resultados destaca que el perfil actitudinal de líderes innovadores latinoamericanos puede enriquecerse mediante la conjunción de pensamiento crítico, comportamiento crítico y actitud dialógica. Concluyendo que la psicología política encuentra en esa vertiente insumos para tratar los complejos procesos políticos asociados a la equidad social, participación ciudadana, reforzamiento institucional de los sistemas democráticos, todo ello desde un ángulo crítico-racional.
El presente trabajo tuvo como finalidad evaluar el autoconcepto del estudiante en psicología desde una perspectiva multidimensional, mediante la aplicación del test AF-5 (Autoconcepto Forma 5) a una muestra de 450 estudiantes de las carreras de psicología clínica y psicopedagogía de la Universidad Técnica de Machala. Se utilizó una metodología descriptiva de diferencia de grupos, de corte transversal con enfoque cuantitativo. Los participantes presentaron niveles altos de autoconcepto en las dimensiones académico-laboral y físico, no así en las dimensiones social y emocional. Se encontraron algunas diferencias entre los estudiantes de los semestres inferiores y superiores, en lo concerniente a la dimensión emocional y únicamente en la dimensión familiar se revelaron diferencias significativas relacionadas al sexo y a la carrera estudiada. En relación a la edad no hubo diferencias significativas en ninguna de las dimensiones evaluadas.
La motivación y satisfacción con los estudios son dos variables fundamentales dentro del proceso de elección de una carrera, por lo que la presente investigación planteó como objetivo determinar si existe relación entre los tipos de motivación y la satisfacción con la profesión elegida, además de establecer diferencia entre los niveles de estudio y género; para ello se empleó un enfoque de investigación cuantitativo de alcance descriptivo-correlacional, diferencias de grupo y diseño no experimental-transversal. Los instrumentos que se utilizaron para recolectar datos fueron la Escala de Satisfacción con la Profesión Elegida, y el Cuestionario de Motivación para Estudiar Psicología (MOPI). La muestra calculada mediante fórmula fue de 213 estudiantes de la Carrera de Psicología Clínica de la Universidad Técnica de Machala. Los principales resultados evidencian que, no existe una relación significativa entre los tipos de motivación y los niveles de satisfacción que presentan los estudiantes, además, no hay diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre las motivaciones según el género ni los niveles de estudio, excepto en la motivación intrínseca de conocimiento que es mayor en los estudiantes de los primeros cuatro niveles, con respecto a los semestres superiores.
