Geographical proximity and social links as new forms of territorially. — The territory today is coming back into fashion, yet it is difficult to distinguish in this new trend between a genuine revival of territorial solidarity, the mere urge to talk about it and a new outlook on the part of researchers! Distancing himself from the systematic identification of "urban villages", the author proposes on the contrary to question the influence of proximity. Once they cease to focus on social location, researchers are free to study social development in space. From sedentary to nomadic tenitoriality a whole new field is open for the construction of socio-spatial forms of proximity.
