Riau Islands Province has high fishery potential because it is surrounded by sea water areas. One of high potential of fisheries is blue swimming crab commodity. Covid-19 pandemic in the world has affected various sectors, one of which is the blue swimming crab sector, therefore biological information (bioinformation) during this pandemic very useful for blue swimming crab sustainability, especially in Bintan District. This study aimed at providing bioinformation related to blue swimming crab during the covid-19 pandemic in Bintan Regency. The bioinformation includes size distribution, growth patterns, sex ratios, and maturity level of female crab gonads in Kawal and Pengujan waters (Bintan Regency). The carapace width of the blue swimming crab in Kawal ranges from 102,2–187,9 mm and carapace width in Pengujan ranges from 106,3–148,4 mm. The carapace width class mode was found at the mean class value of 130 mm (in Kawal) and 140 mm (in Pengujan). The growth patterns of both female and male crabs in Kawal and Pengujan are negative allometric. Based on the chi square test with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0,05), the sex ratio of female-male blue swimming crab in general both in Kawal and in Pengujan was in a balanced condition. The level of gonad maturity in female blue swimming crab in Kawal and Pengujan was found from level of gonad maturity 1 to 4 stages. In Kawal found 67% were mature gonad, 22% immature gonad, and 11% berried female. In Pengujan found 31% were mature gonad, 63% immature gonad, and 6% berried females.
Kampung Baru is an area on Bintan Island which is located in Sebong Lagoi Village, Teluk Sebong District, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. This study aimed at determine the structure of the macrozoobenthos community, the condition of the physico-chemical parameters of the waters and the relationship between macrozoobenthos and water quality. This research was conducted using a survey method. Sampling site points of this study using random sampling method with 30 sampling site points at high and low tide. The parameters measured are physical, chemical and biological parameters of the water. The results showed that there were 18 species of macrozoobenthos consisting of 4 classes of macrozoobenthos and 3 phylum at 30 sampling site points, namely mollusca, annelida, and arthhopoda phylum. Based on the ecological index value, it is known that the macrozoobenthos species in Kampung Baru waters are still classified as low with disproportionate conditions. The values of diversity index (low), uniformity index (high) and dominance index (low). Water quality of Kampung Baru waters at high tide still meet quality standards of Kepmen-LH No. 51 of 2004, but at low tide the values of temperature, DO, and salinity parameters did not meet quality standards. The relationship between macrozoobenthos parameters and water quality using PCA analysis where density parameters have a relationship with two parameters, namely temperature and pH.
Macrobrachium malayanum (J. Roux, 1935) is a freshwater prawn occuring in Senggarang Water Flow, Tanjungpinang City, Riau Island, Indonesia. Least concern (LC) status of the IUCN red list threatened species and limited research about this species in Senggarang Water Flow cause this basic research is important to do. The objectives of the study were to examine the length-weight relationship of the M. malayanum in Senggarang Water Flow, Tanjungpinang City, Riau Island Province, Indonesia. A total of 84 samples were used in this study consist of 32 samples in February and 52 samples in April. Length-weight relationship of M. malayanum in February was W= 0.093TL1.425 (R2 = 0.59) and W=0.052TL2.195 (R2 = 0.75). Samples in February and April showed negative allometric growth. A temporal analysis of the negative allometric in b value showed in April (2.195) more larger than February (1.425). Environmental parameters such as temperature, current, dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, nitrate, and phospate are still appropriate condition. M. malayanum found in substrate type slightly gravelly sand and gravelly sand.
