Introduction: propolis is a substance that has aroused the interest of many researchers because of its numerous therapeutic properties, antibacterial and antifungal.Objectives: identifying the species of Candida and evaluate the antifungal effect of red propolis yeast oral cavity.Method: this is a clinical in vitro study with saliva samples collected from 152 patients treated at the dental office of the Family Health Strategy in the city of São Bento-pB. the identification of Candida species was made through the Chrom Ágar Candida. the antifungal activity of the propolis extract was analyzed in four different concentrations: 100%, 75%, 50% and 25%, through the agar diffusion test.Results: the most prevalent species was C. albicans; antifungal action as to the concentration of 25% of the propolis extract was that apparently demonstrated greater efficacy, compared to the highest concentration.Conclusion: the inhibitory effect of propolis against Candida may have been influenced by the concentration of alcohol present in the extract. to test this hypothesis suggests that search is performed with extracts of propolis and at the same time with the alcohol, in both concentrations and different environmental conditions. this study offers subsidies for other professionals employ different methodologies and propolis concentrations with other substances in order to test the antimicrobial action of these.
Introduction:Tuberculosis is a re-emerging disease in developed countries, and keeps high prevalence in developing nations. Currently still remains as a public health problem unsolved and a challenge to be faced.Objective: Evaluating the difficulties and ease in compliance with Supervised Treatment for Tuberculosis from the perspective of managers who act in the control of tuberculosis in priority cities in Paraiba by the National Program for Tuberculosis Control.Method: An evaluative study of qualitative approach, whose sample was composed of six managers. Data were collected through interviews with semi-structured instrument; and processed by the analysis technique of speech of Bardin.Results: Management, lack of working condition, the disengagement of patients to adhere to supervised treatment and the resistance of professionals to put into practice the supervised treatment have been the main difficulties encountered.
Conclusion:Being the most significant difficulties than the ease, tuberculosis control actions are limited and do not produce satisfactory results. There was perceived need to strengthen management and involvement of the subjects to fight the disease.
O atendimento pré-hospitalar é fundamental para pacientes vítimas de ferimento por arma de fogo, pois é essencial na redução das sequelas decorrentes da mesma, assim como para melhores condições de sobrevida das vítimas. As lesões provenientes por disparos de arma de fogo são uma das mais incidentes formas de violência atualmente, representando um problema de saúde pública pela frequência com que ocorre; devido a fatores como este, vê-se a importância da assistência de enfermagem qualificada ainda na cena da ocorrência. O estudo objetiva descrever as condutas do enfermeiro atuante no Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (SAMU) frente às ocorrências com vítimas Ferimentos por Armas de Fogo (FAF). O estudo é do tipo descritivo, exploratório, com abordagem quantiqualitativa, com participação de nove enfermeiras mediante assinatura do Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido, através de um questionário contendo perguntas objetivas e subjetivas. Os resultados mostram 56% dos entrevistados revelam não enfrentar dificuldades na assistência as vítimas de FAF, porém os relatados foram em relação a segurança da equipe e a falta de auxílio para conter os cidadãos que acompanham o atendimento com curiosidade; 100% da amostra participaram de cursos de treinamento. Em relato todas as enfermeiras entrevistadas já prestaram conduta a vítima de FAF e a consideram a assistência de enfermagem prestada no atendimento pré-hospitalar (APH) como resolutiva. Nursing conducts front of victims injured by firearms in emergency mobile care serviceAbstract: The prehospital care is critical to patient injury victims by firearms, it is essential to reduce the consequences resulting from it, as well as better conditions of survival of the victims. Injuries from firearm shots are one of the incidents forms of violence currently representing a public health problem by the frequency with which it occurs; due to factors like this, we see the importance of skilled nursing care still at the scene of the occurrence. The study aims to describe the behavior of nurses who work in the Mobile Emergency Service (SAMU) compared to occurrences with victims injuries by firearms (FAF). The study is a descriptive, exploratory, with quantitative and qualitative approach, with participation of nine nurses by signing the Informed Consent and Informed through a questionnaire with objective and subjective questions. The results show 56% of respondents reveal not face difficulties in assisting the victims of FAF, but were reported with respect to safety of staff and the lack of assistance to contain the citizens accompanying the service with curiosity; 100% of the sample participated in training courses. In reporting all nurses surveyed already conduct provided the victim of FAF and consider nursing care in pre-hospital care (APH) as termination.
