The subdivision into countable and uncountable nouns is differently organized by human languages. In the Germanic and Romance languages it is indicated by restrictions imposed in the use of articles and plural forms. In Russian there is no possibility to differentiate word classes by articles. This article studies the formation of singulatives by means of suffixation äs a Russian device to distinguish mass words and thing-words. 'Tor countables both V and the' can be used for the singular form, whereas 'a 5 cannot be used for the plural form. Instead zero form can be used. Likewise, for uncountables, 'a' cannot be used, but zero can be used. There is no plural for uncountables. Thus the first step is to know which article is possible for a noun 1 ".)Ein und dasselbe Wort kann sich von Sprache zu Sprache gerade im Artikelgebrauch unterscheiden. The Hague-Paris: Mouton, 1970. S. 44-45. "Stoffname, -bezeichnung" wenden wir dabei auf Konkreta (Butter, Salz) und auf Abstrakta (Geduld, Haß) an. Siehe unten 5c).Brought to you ...
Two consecutive sentences with the same verbal predicate show in Russian often an aspectual shift. The verb which is only a reprisal of the foregoing action appears in the imperfective aspect. On the level of functional sentence perspective the imperfective verb in such a sequence is part of the theme. This thematic role is often underlined by lexical items, whose function it is to signalize the communicative structure of the sentence. The inderdependence between theme-rheme articulation is more important than the relationship between aspect and modality.i.
