One of the 21st century skills that students must possess is critical thinking skills. This research aims to determine critical thinking skills of students at SMPN 1 Kalipare topic of substances and its characteristics. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The research was conducted at SMPN 1 Kalipare. The research sample were 83 students of class VIII in 2018/2019 academic year and were assigned random sampling. The instrument used was 15 multiple choice test questions of critical thinking skills. Data analysis was performed with quantitative percentage analysis. The distribution of students critical thinking skills of class VIII at SMPN1 Kalipare who have very high critical thinking skills are 6 students (7,23%), high critical thinking skills are 7 students (8,43%), medium critical thinking skills are 17 students (20,48%), low critical thinking skills are 20 students (24,10%), and very low critical thinking skills are 33 students (39,76%). The results showed the students critical thinking skills of class VIII at SMPN 1 Kalipare about substances and its characteristics included in the low category with a percentage of 47,85%. indicator of critical thinking with the lowest category is reveal the reason with a percentage of 36,90%.
This study aimed to (1) determine the feasibility of developed science textbooks by expert validators; (2) knowing the results of the readability test by junior high school teachers and student. This research was a development study used a 4D modification model which consist of define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, this development was carried out until the develop stage. The product was validated by a material expert and media expert validator. The readability test was conducted by three science teachers and fifteen junior high school students. Data were collected using a validation and readability test questionnaire. Technical analysis of data used quantitative descriptive percentage analysis. The results showed that the feasibility of the material was 81.26% with very good criteria, the percentage of the student’s media feasibility was 89.06% with very good criteria the percentage of the teacher’s media feasibility was 91.67% with very good criteria. The percentage of readability test results by the science teacher was 96.35% with very good criteria, and the percentage of readability tests by junior high school students was 85.67% with very good criteria. As a whole the science textbook integrated the local potential of bakpia can be used in the science learning process.
Indonesia is a country with very rich in local regional potential. The local potential can be utilized as one of the natural science learning sources in junior high school. One of the local potentials that can be integrated with science lessons is food. This research aimed to conduct the study, analysis, and develop science subject specific pedagogy of natural science learning integrated local food in Cangkringan Sub-District to introduce chemical materials in junior high school, namely additives in food and its impact on health. This research was research and development (R&D) with 4-D model, consist of define, design, develop, and disseminate. Product eligibility is assessed by the validator using the product feasibility assessment sheet. Product feasibility assessment scores are then classified in product rating category classification. This research results is produce science subject specific pedagogy that consist of syllabuses, lesson plans, handouts, and student worksheets. The developed syllabus gets a feasibility score of 4.00, lesson plan gets a score of 3.80, the handout gets a score of 3.60, while the student worksheet gets a score of 3.80. Based on these results, overall, the science subject specific pedagogy developed gained a very good category.
Pemanfaatan potensi lokal sekolah dalam pembelajaran dapat membuat siswa mengetahui objek materi belajar dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, sehingga memberikan dampak positif pada minat belajar yang lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan minat belajar siswa setelah menggunakan pembelajaran terintegrasi potensi lokal sekolah. Subjek penelitian adalah satu kelas siswa di SMP Negeri 2 Genteng kelas VIII berjumlah 32 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pre Eksperimental, desain penelitian One Group pretest postest design. Teknik sampling menggunakan purposive sampling. Intrumen yang digunakan adalah angket minat belajar siswa. Angket dikembangkan peneliti dengan memperlihatkan indikator minat belajar dengan 23 pertanyaan. Analisis data menggunakan paired sample t-test dan uji n-gain. Nilai Sig. (2.tailed) pada paired sample t-test adalah 0.000 kurang dari 0,05. Jadi, dapat dikatakan pembelajaran terntegrasi potensi local sekolah signifikansi dalam meningkatkan minat belajar IPA siswa. Rata-rata n-gain minat belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan sebesar 0,60 dengan kriteria sedang.
