Crystal Structure of New Ternary Compounds Al 2 Ln 11 Ge 8 (Ln: Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er) and Thermal Properties of Al2Er11Ge8. -The title compounds are prepared by arc-melting of the elements followed by annealing at 1273 K for 720 h and at 673 K for 48 h. Their crystal structure is determined by powder XRD. The isotypic Al2Ln11Ge8 (Ln: Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er) compounds crystallize in the tetragonal space group I4/mmm with the Ge 10 Ho 10 -type structure. The lattice thermal expansion of Al 2 Er 11 Ge 8 is measured using high temperature XRD in the temperature range from 293 to 743 K. -(ZENG*, L.; HE, W.; SHEN, W.; LU, M.; J. Crystal Structure and Thermal Expansion Properties of New Compound La2Cu0.8Ge3. -The title compound is prepared by arc melting of the elements followed by annealing at 673 K for 800 h (yield given in g). La2Cu0.8Ge3 crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I41/amd with Z = 2 (α-ThSi2 structure; powder XRD). Its thermal expansion is studied by high-temperature powder XRD in the temperature range 321-753 K. The unit-cell parameters increase with increasing temperature. -(YAN, J.; LU, X.; SHEN, W.; ZENG*, L.; NONG, L.; J.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
