ChemInform Abstract: Crystal Structure of New Ternary Compounds Al2Ln11Ge8 (Ln: Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er) and Thermal Properties of Al2Er11Ge8.

Abstract: Crystal Structure of New Ternary Compounds Al 2 Ln 11 Ge 8 (Ln: Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er) and Thermal Properties of Al2Er11Ge8. -The title compounds are prepared by arc-melting of the elements followed by annealing at 1273 K for 720 h and at 673 K for 48 h. Their crystal structure is determined by powder XRD. The isotypic Al2Ln11Ge8 (Ln: Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er) compounds crystallize in the tetragonal space group I4/mmm with the Ge 10 Ho 10 -type structure.
