“…The existence of two previously known compounds, GdAl 2 Ge 2 (structure type Ce 2 SO 2 [2]) and GdAlGe (α-ThSi 2 [3]), was confirmed, the formation of a new ternary intermetallide of approximate composition GdAlGe 2 with unknown structure was established, and the isothermal cross-section of the phase diagram was constructed. Six more compounds were later reported in the same system: Gd 2 AlGe 6 (La 2 AlGe 6 ) [ [8], and Gd 11 Al 2 Ge 8 (Sc 11 Al 2 Ge 8 ) [9]. The compound ~GdAlGe 2 probably corresponds to the compound Gd 2 Al 1.4 Ge 5.…”
