Es werden die PMR‐Spektren der Methyl‐ und Äthylester der Sulfoxylsäure und thioschwefligen Säure mit den Spektren der Schwefligsäureester und des Diäthyldisulfids verglichen. Die Spektren der Verbindungen S2(OR)2 stehen mit deren Thiosulfit‐Struktur SS(OR)2 in Einklang, ebenso aber auch mit dr Disulfan‐Struktur ROSSOR, wenn man annimmt, daβ letztere in der starren gauche‐Konfiguration vorliegt.
SF2 und CF3SF bilden ungewöhnliche chemische Gleichgewichte mit ihren Dimeren F3SSF und CF3SF2SCF3, an denen zwei verschiedene Bindungen (SF und SS) beteiligt sind. Das Gleichgewicht zwischen F3SSF und SF2 wird durch eine Zersetzungsreaktion, die zu SF4 und SSF2 führt, gestört. Die Gleichgewichtskonstanten und Dissoziationsenthalpien wurden für das System F3SSF ⇌ 2SF2 zu Kp (298) = 2,5 · 10−3 atm, ΔH°298 = 68,5kJ/mol und für das System CF3SF2SCF3 ⇌ 2CF3SF zu Kp (298) = 1,3 · 103 atm, ΔH°298 = 42,5kJ/mol bestimmt. Die Gleichgewichtseinstellungen sind kinetisch gehemmt. Sowohl die Dissoziations‐ als auch die Zersetzungsgeschwindigkeiten sind stark oberflächenabhängig. Unter günstigen Bedingungen betragen die Halbwertszeiten bei 298 K für die Dissoziation von F3SSF etwa 8 h und von CF3SF2SCF3 etwa 2 h, bezüglich der Zersetzung (p ∼ 13 mbar) von SF2 etwa 10 h und von CF3SF etwa 1 Jahr.
