Solid state post-polycondensation of poZy(ethyZene terephthalate)Solid state polycondensation of poly(ethy1ene terephthalate) was performed in flowing nitrogen, varying reaction temperature and flow rate of purge gas. The effect of concentration of end groups on the rate of reactions is be described by a kinetic model. Maximum of the rate of overall reaction is achieved a t a ratio of end-groups OH/COOH = 2. The advantages of solid state polycondensation and melt polycondensation in producing high molecular weight poly (ethylene terephthalate) are compared. OIMCbIBaeTCII K u H e m q e C K O t MOAeJIbIo. Determination of kinetic parameters of the emulsion polymerization of poly(viny1 chloride)A kinetic model of emulsion polymerization involving radical desorption and reabsorption is suggested and compared with overall rate models for the polymerization of vinylchloride described in the literature. The growth of dcsorbing chain transfer radical is considered t o be of high importance for the kinetics. By adaption to experimental results the capture degree of polymerization and the average diffusion coefficient in the particles, the concentration of radical carrying particles, their capture efficiency, the amount of particles inefficiently migrated through, the radical coucentration in water and the amount of particles formed anew in dependence on particle number and size are determined.
