Metastable MoO 3 was successfully synthesized by a chemical transformation of a-MoO 3 and characterized by TG-DSC, BET, XRD and Raman spectroscopy. The prepared material was highly active and selective to formaldehyde formation from methanol over a wide range of reaction temperatures. The formaldehyde selectivity can reach up to 99 % at about 98 % methanol conversion. The stability of the prepared catalysts was also investigated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
