24We are reporting the synergistic effects of amoxicillin coated silver nanoparticles, and sodium 25 cholate is used as the stabilizer. Following, the synthesis of AgNPs physicochemical 26 characterization was carried out using UV spectroscopy, XRD, FTIR, FESEM, AFM and NC-27 AFM analysis. The confirmation of AgNPs was confirmed UV spectral peak at 426 nm, the 28 morphology of the nanoparticles was found to be spherical, oval with an average size of 35.50 29 nm. The cytotoxic effect was carried out using MTT assay with IC50 of 50.78 µg/mL and the 30 antibacterial effect was observed as zone of inhibition of 12 mm for E.coli. The drug release was 31 determined as 69%, which contributes to the therapeutic efficacy of water soluble based 32 nanoparticles/nanomedicines for biomedical applications.
33Recent advances in biotechnology have accelerated the discovery of novel drug molecules.
48Metal-based nanoparticles possess several advantages over other systems, such as cell specific 49 targeting of the nanoparticle delivery system and the ability to control the kinetics of drug release 50 [1]. Silver (I) oxide takes advantage of their low solubility in aqueous environments to slowly 51 release silver ions as Ag (OH) -2 . It is well known that metallic silver is complexes by silver ions 52 rendering silver clusters (Ag 2+ ,Ag4 2+ ) [2]. Consequently, there is a need to produce virtuous, non-53 toxic and environment friendly methods for the synthesis of AgNPs. The utilization of the 54 biological system in this area is rapidly gaining importance due to its growing success.
55Amoxicillin trihydrate (α-amino-hydroxybenzyl-Penicillin) is a semi-synthetic, orally 56 absorbed and broad-spectrum antibiotic. The monodispersed AgNPs with narrow particle size 57 distribution were most effective antibacterial agents because of their high surface/volume 58 fraction so that a large proportion of silver atoms were in direct contact with their environment 59 [3].
60The facile one pot synthesis of amoxicillin and sodium salt of amoxicillin stabilized gold 61 nanoparticles has been reported [4]. Chitosan/polygamma glutamic acid nanoparticles 62 incorporated into pH-sensitive hydrogels were developed as an efficient carrier for amoxicillin 63 delivery specifically with intercellular spaces against Helicobacter pylori infection [5].
64Polyethylene glycol coated polyethylcyanoacrylate nanoparticles loaded with amoxicillin were 65 prepared and the influence of the PEG coating on the particle size, zeta potential, drug release 66 rate and phagocytic uptake by murine macrophages [6]. Due to the emergence of antibiotic 67 resistant bacteria and limitations of the use of antibiotics, the clinicians have returned to silver 68 wound dressings containing varying levels of silver [7]. 69 ` 4 The synthesized AgNPs prepared on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for the spatial control of 70 cell capture, where the residual Si-H groups in the PDMS matrix were used as reductants to 71 reduce AgNO3 for the formation of AgNPs and PDMS-AgNPs composite showed go...
Aim: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), attacking mainly on the immune system of a body. This has spread mortality and morbidity all over the world. During this dreadful situation there is an urgent need for the development and rapid dissemination of COVID-19 treatment. Siddha's traditional medicine system can be used as preventive care to boost the immune system. Materials and Methods: The immense treasure of knowledge found in Siddha medicine can help mortality. Kabasura Kudineer (KSK) is one of the Siddha poly herbal formulation used as an immune-boosting agent against several diseases. Results: In the present study the KSK has been investigated for its effects of immunomodulatory and thrombolytic potential.
