El peso en los recién nacidos a término es un indicar de salud y su bajo peso puede dar como consecuencia complicaciones perinatales que ponen en riesgo la vida del neonato, aumentando así la tasa de morbilidad y mortalidad de los recién nacidos a nivel nacional y mundial, suceso que se observa con mayor prevalencia en los países subdesarrollados. El propósito de esta investigación es determinar la incidencia de las complicaciones en los recién nacidos a término de bajo peso en los partos atendidos en el servicio de gineco-obstetricia del Hospital León Becerra Camacho de Milagro en el periodo 2014- 2015 mediante la revisión de las historias clínicas, para así contribuir con la actualización de datos que permitan implementar nuevas formas de afrontar este problema en nuestro hospital. Durante el periodo 2014 – 2015 se obtuvieron 875 recién nacidos a término en el área de gineco-obstetricia del Hospital León Becerra Camacho de Milagro, de ellos se evidenció que 126 nacieron con un bajo peso. Según los datos recabados podemos observar que el 14% de los recién nacidos a término obtenidos en el área de gineco-obstetricia del Hospital León Becerra Camacho de Milagro en el periodo 2014- 2015, nacieron con bajo peso, y de ellos el 34% presentaron complicaciones perinatales, observándose con mayor frecuencia la asfixia perinatal en un 42%, seguida de la taquipnea transitoria en un 25%, la hipotermia en un 21% y el síndrome de aspiración meconial en un 12%. Mencionando también que el bajo peso predominó en el sexo masculino con el 63%, y que el peso que predominó en la población de estudio oscila entre 1500g y 2499g con un porcentaje del 72%, continuando con un 27% los pesos que fluctúan entre 1000g y 1499g, seguido del 1% de pesos inferiores de 1000g. Mientras que el porcentaje de la edad gestacional de los recién nacidos a término con bajo que se evidenció fue del 18% los de 37semanas, 25% los que tenían 38 semanas, 15% los de 39 semanas, 22% los que presentaban 40 semanas y 20% los de 41 semanas de edad gestacional. De esta forma se cumplieron con los objetivos generales y específicos planteados en esta investigación.
El síndrome metabólico (SM) se describe como una asociación de trastornos que afectan la salud del individuo. Se trata de un conjunto de factores que incrementan el riesgo de padecer enfermedades metabólicas y cardiovasculares. Su diagnóstico requiere además de la presencia de obesidad el cumplimiento de dos o más de los siguientes criterios: valores alterados de triglicéridos, colesterol, glucosa y/o presión arterial. Objetivo: Determinar la frecuencia del síndrome metabólico y sus factores de riesgo en adolescentes de la Unidad Educativa 29 de Agosto, periodo académico 2017 – 2018 como fundamento para el desarrollo de programas preventivos y/o terapéuticos. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo observacional de corte transversal en adolescentes de uno y otro sexo con edades comprendidas entre los 13 y 20 años. Se identificó la edad y género, además de los indicadores antropométricos, clínicos y bioquímicos de las adolescentes participantes. Se categorizaron los adolescentes, según sexo y edad, en bajo peso, peso saludable, sobrepeso y obeso. Resultados: Se evaluaron 404 sujetos, 211 (52.2%) masculinos y 193 (47.8%) femeninos. El 9.2% de las mujeres tuvo sobrepeso y 4.7% obesidad. 32.2% peso saludable. Los valores bioquímicos con mayor alteración fueron colesterol 4.5% y triglicéridos 4.5%. En 40.8% de hombres se observó peso saludable, en 6.9% sobrepeso y en 2.5% obesidad. Los valores bioquímicos alterados fueron colesterol y triglicéridos. Conclusiones: La frecuencia observada del síndrome metabólico fue de 6.2%, con notables diferencias entre mujeres 4.2% y hombres 2.0%. Los factores de riesgo de mayor incidencia fueron: Obesidad, colesterol y Triglicéridos.
En la actualidad, los servicios de salud deben ofrecer atención y cuidados integrales que brinden los recursos necesarios para dar mejoría a sus pacientes, desde el diagnóstico y tratamiento, hasta su recuperación completa, la infección del sitio quirúrgico (ISQ) y las complicaciones que de ella se derivan han constituido un hecho inseparable a la práctica quirúrgica desde sus rudimentarios comienzos hasta la actualidad. La presente investigación contiene información de revisión bibliográfica de tipo documental, la técnica para la recolección de datos está constituida por materiales impresos y electrónicos estos últimos como Google Académico, Scielo, PubMed, entre otros. Las infecciones de sitio quirúrgicos no son infrecuentes dentro del ámbito hospitalario, ya que estas se pueden presentar por múltiples factores, como propios de la cirugía, así como propios del paciente. Sin embargo, existen protocolos a nivel internacional diseñados por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) para la prevención de las infecciones, pero como ya se menciono es difícil mantener el control tanto de los factores intrínsecos como exógenos, sobre estos últimos, se pueden mencionar los materiales protésicos, que son utilizados en un 10%. El conocimiento de todos los elementos que pueden ayudar a combatir y/o prevenir estas infecciones van a conducir a mejorar los procesos quirúrgicos y su calidad.
Por ser el Parto Pretérmino (PP) un problema de salud pública por el que mueren un millón de niños en el mundo cada año y 35000 en América latina, debe atenderse con estrategias eficaces y una oportuna atención prenatal de calidad. Para ello, es menester el conocimiento local epidemiológico a través de estudios que revelen el comportamiento de este síndrome, para así poder actuar de forma eficaz en su prevención en cada comunidad. Se realizó estudio de carácter retrospectivo, observacional, indirecto, de corte transversal, no experimental, en una muestra de 73 pacientes menores de 25 años con riesgo de PP, atendidas el área de emergencia, consulta externa y hospitalización del Hospital Básico de Baba, entre el 01 de enero y el 31 de diciembre del 2019. Los resultados revelaron que: el grupo etario con mayor frecuencia de PP fue de 20 a 25 años, con un 62% de incidencia; los factores de riesgo de PP de mayor frecuencia fueron infección de vías urinarias (51%) e infecciones vaginales (12%); la causa de PP fue la ruptura prematura de membrana con un 95% de casos. Se hacen recomendaciones en post de la prevención del PP y sus complicaciones materno-fetales que tienen, generalmente, un mal pronóstico neonatal.
De cada diez niños que nacen un nacimiento es pre termito es decir antes de cumplir las treinta y siete semanas de gestación, la frecuencia aumenta mientras más bajo es el nivel socioeconómico, y viceversa, disminuye mientras se presente en un mejor nivel socioeconómico, la mayoría de los partos pre términos el cuarenta – cuarenta y cinco por ciento ocurren de manera espontáneos, también hay otras causas como el embarazo múltiple, las infecciones, y enfermedades crónicas como la diabetes mellitus tipo II y la hipertensión arterial, por estas dos últimas enfermedades la edad es importante porque a mayor edad más riesgo de padecer enfermedades crónica. También se puede subdividir el parto pre termino en tres subcategorías de acuerdo con la edad gestacional de producto en el momento del parto, están los prematuros extremos con un riesgo alto de morbimortalidad y son los nacidos con menos de veintiocho semanas de gestación, los muy prematuros son aquellos con veintiocho semana de gestación hasta antes de la treinta y dos semanas de gestación, los prematuros moderados a tardíos son aquellos que están en el rango entre las treinta y dos y antes de las treinta y siete semanas de gestación, a menor edad de gestación el riego de morbimortalidad aumenta.
