La investigación que se presenta tiene como objetivo principal el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico (PC) de estudiantes de educación primaria y la enseñanza de temáticas relacionadas con la naturaleza de la ciencia y la tecnología (NdCyT). Se desarrolla y pone en funcionamiento una secuencia de enseñanza-aprendizaje realizada ad hoc; tanto el análisis como la evaluación de los resultados obtenidos se efectúan a través de un enfoque cuantitativo. La muestra del estudio se conformó por 130 participantes de 6 º curso de educación primaria. Los instrumentos de evaluación utilizados son dos adaptaciones: la primera del cuestionario de opinión sobre ciencia, tecnología y sociedad; y la segunda de una traducción de la prueba de Halpern. Como resultado, se observa que los participantes en el estudio manifiestan mejoras significativas en las habilidades de PC y las concepciones relativas a la NdCyT estudiadas. En consecuencia, la experiencia se considera exitosa.

Resumen: El fin principal de esta propuesta didáctica es dar a conocer una forma de educar en el gusto por la lectura, conocida como animación a la lectura. En concreto, se emplea el método de Montserrat Sarto (Sarto, 1984, 1998), basado en tres objetivos: acercar a los jóvenes a lecturas que puedan comprender, procurar que los estudiantes disfruten con la lectura y fomentar la reflexión sobre lo leído. En esta línea, se elabora una programación de animación a la lectura dirigida al alumnado de sexto curso de Educación Primaria de un centro educativo de Segovia. Dicha propuesta se elabora a partir de las estrategias extraídas de publicaciones de referencia (Sarto, 1984, 1998). Como resultado, los participantes de esta experiencia puntual, además de mostrar interés por la lectura, han manifestado ganas por mejorar su comprensión lectora y por continuar aprendiendo con este método. En conclusión, se ha logrado cumplir el fin principal, además de los tres objetivos que propone el método de animación empleado, lo cual pone de manifiesto que la propuesta atrae la atención de los jóvenes, promoviendo un acercamiento positivo a la lectura.
Este trabajo presenta una experiencia cuyas finalidades principales consisten en mejorar las competencias en ciencia y tecnología y desarrollar Pensamiento Crítico de los alumnos de Educación Primaria, mediante la implementación de una secuencia didáctica que toma como base la evaluación formativa y el diálogo. Dicha propuesta se ha llevado a cabo en el área de Ciencias Naturales, concretamente en cuatro centros educativos de Segovia en 6º curso de Educación Primaria. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que los estudiantes han mantenido una participación activa en el proceso de evaluación que les ha permitido reconstruir sus aprendizajes a partir de las intervenciones realizadas por sus compañeros o por el propio maestro. En conclusión, a pesar de las dificultades encontradas la experiencia ha resultado positiva y refleja que aplicar la evaluación formativa permite visibilizar el desarrollo de las concepciones sobre Naturaleza de la Ciencia y la Tecnología y las capacidades de Pensamiento Crítico.
Educational gardens are powerful outdoor learning environments to address the subject of climate change and foster climate action. Using an online questionnaire, this study examines the influence of the main sociodemographic and academic factors, and the role of connectedness to nature, on the perception of educational gardens as contexts of climate change education (CCE) among Spanish preservice teachers (PSTs). The sample consisted of 889 PSTs enrolled in 9 university campuses of Spain. The statistical analyses performed evidenced that women are more likely to use educational gardens than men and that there is a progressive decrease in the positive perception of PSTs about the usefulness of gardens for CCE as the educational level at which they are being trained increases. Statistics also revealed that the variable connectedness to nature and the rating of the importance of educational gardens in CCE are not significantly related. Nevertheless, the Mann–Whitney U test indicated that PSTs who scored higher on connection to nature wished to broaden their knowledge of sustainable agriculture and, thus, connectedness to nature could be considered a predictor of environmental attitudes, each influencing the other. Based on these findings, recommendations for PSTs’ training in the CCE context are provided.
Este artículo presenta una experiencia elaborada con el fin de procurar la mejora de la alfabetización científica y las capacidades de Pensamiento Crítico (PC) de estudiantes de Educación Primaria. La implementación de esta propuesta ha tenido lugar en cuatro centros de Educación Primaria de Segovia, concretamente en el área de Ciencias de la Naturaleza. El análisis de resultados es cualitativo y se realiza mediante un análisis por momentos de observación y tratamiento de categorías. Los resultados obtenidos permiten observar como la interacción entre estudiantes, junto con las aportaciones de la docente (evaluación formativa) es un elemento destacable en el proceso de reconstrucción de conocimientos sobre la energía, la ejecución de procesos de PC y las reflexiones sobre cuestiones socio-científicas. La experiencia permite concluir que los estudiantes han mejorado sus capacidades de PC y su alfabetización científica a la par que han mejorado sus conocimientos sobre la energía.
