RESUMO A presente revisão de escopo objetivou evidenciar o perfil das pesquisas brasileiras que investigam os desfechos em saúde ocasionados pela exposição a agrotóxicos, procurando entender os principais achados, tais como metodologia empregada, tipo de substância, desfechos em saúde, locais investigados, sugestões de ações e diálogo com a agroecologia. Foi utilizada a metodologia ‘scoping review’, seguindo o modelo Prisma-ScR. Entre os 83 artigos encontrados, 61 estudaram os/as agricultores/as e 22 estudaram outros grupos populacionais. Houve predomínio de estudos primários e quantitativos, seguidos por revisões sistemáticas. Do total, 79 encontraram desfechos, com destaque aos danos hematológicos e genéticos, em sua maior parte causados pela intoxicação por mais de 1 agrotóxico. O maior número de estudos foi realizado na região Sul, seguida das regiões Sudeste, Nordeste, Centro-Oeste e Norte. Apenas uma pesquisa sugeriu a transição agroecológica enquanto solução para a problemática. Conclui-se que, perante um cenário de crescimento do uso de agrotóxicos, fazem-se urgentes proposições de ações intersetoriais e que não envolvam somente educação em saúde ou o setor saúde de forma isolada, como sugere a maioria dos artigos, sendo necessária a articulação entre setores ligados à agricultura, abastecimento, educação, saúde e meio-ambiente.

Tendo em vista o provável agravamento da situação de fome e de insegurança alimentar e nutricional no Brasil devido à pandemia de Covid-19, este trabalho teve como objetivos: analisar as ações executadas pelo Estado durante a pandemia e compreender de que modo elas contribuíram à realização ou violação do Direito Humano à Alimentação Adequada (DHAA); compreender a relação entre essas ações e o modus operandi dos sistemas alimentares atuais. Este foi um estudo empírico, que tomou como base os desafios e eixos do último Plano Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional. A coleta de dados foi realizada em dois jornais de ampla circulação, seguida por análise documental que teve como foco as dinâmicas sociais expressas no seu conteúdo. Os resultados sustentam que houve um processo de violação ao DHAA durante a pandemia nas quatro dimensões relativas à obrigação de garanti-lo, principalmente a populações mais vulneráveis, tanto pela ausência de ações, como pela insuficiência. Os resultados indicam que essas violações não são apenas resultado político conjuntural, mas são produto da dinâmica intrínseca aos sistemas alimentares, em simbiose com as relações de poder político e econômico, que estruturam o Estado brasileiro, e sua inserção na dinâmica do capitalismo internacional.
O artigo tem como centro de análise o debate dos marcos históricos situados entre o período de 1850 a 1945, ou seja, do fim da Monarquia até o primeiro governo Vargas, que impactaram no desenvolvimento de políticas públicas e sociais para a redução da fome e da pobreza no Brasil. O objetivo desta reflexão é compreender as permanências na estrutura social brasileira que justificam a manutenção da insegurança alimentar e nutricional da população, por meio de levantamento bibliográfico e documental. Foram elencados marcos políticos, legais e institucionais que explicitassem a questão do acesso à terra e das novas relações de trabalho que surgiram nesse período, tais como a Lei de Terras de 1850, que contribuiu no processo de transição do sistema mercantil exportador para o modelo político/econômico capitalista, ampliando as desigualdades no acesso à terra e fortalecendo os grandes latifúndios agrários exportadores; a Constituição de 1891, considerada como marco fortalecedor das oligarquias agrárias; e as primeiras políticas públicas de alimentação e nutrição do governo Vargas, geradas pelos estudos de medicina social que justificavam o fenômeno da fome e da desnutrição através do viés biológico da nascente ciência da nutrição, contornando a questão estrutural do acesso à terra. O debate final traz à tona elementos da formação social brasileira que permitem o entendimento da exclusão do acesso à terra enquanto fator estruturante do fenômeno da insegurança alimentar e nutricional.
