Abbreviations UsedPGacid reduced the resistance of the silica gel layer, thus hindering some manipulations with the chromatograms, for example, the detection of minor phospholipids [7]. Although the latter disadvantage was eliminated by decreasing the concentration of the boric acid, we could not obtain the desirable results.In order to find the appropriate solvent systems, we turned to bacterial lipidology, where PG and PE resolution is a routine task. In this field of science, the following solvent mixtures are usually used for one and two dimensional chromatography of phospholipids: chloroformlmethanollwater [a-131, chloroformlmethanoll acetic acidlwater [l 1, 13, 15-1 71 with different proportions of the components.
