This study aimed to describe the ability of student teachers of biology at Pasundan University in developing assessment and remedial based on local wisdom (local wisdom). This research uses descriptive quantitative and comparative approach, the data obtained by the data analysis described to obtain information or a description of these results, further students' ability in comparison. Tests of significance using parametric tests with two-tailed t-test. The population in this study as many as 197 students were divided into 38 groups, 38 groups divided into each of 19 groups and 19 groups remedial assessment. The sample in this research is divided each as much as 13 groups. Data collected by the non-test, the data obtained from a document or report student assignments given a score based on the indicators are divided into several aspects of assessment, data analysis was performed by descriptive statistical. The results showed that the ability of student teachers of biology in developing assessment based on local wisdom including both categories with an average score of 62.23. Remedial teacher's ability to develop based on local wisdom included in the category enough with an average score of 64.31. The highest average score for the assessment is on the aspects of integration of local wisdom values of 71.92 and the lowest score on the aspect of validity assessment amounting to 56.92. The highest average score for remedial namely the implementation aspects of 71.54 and the lowest scores on originality aspects of 53.38. The test results show that the significance of the t (t) of -0.488, t table (t table) two tails at 2.179. p-value of 0.635. Assuming that if t <t table (-0.488 <2.179) or with a p-value> 0.05 (0.635> 0.05) can thus be concluded that students in developing assessment and remedial based on local wisdom has the same ability.
<p style="text-align: justify;">This study seeks to develop a learning method based on local wisdom that is developed to support the learning process. One of the pearls of wisdom used in developing learning methods is the traditional games of the Sundanese people, namely the Bebentengan game. This study aims to see the improvement of student learning outcomes by implementing the Bebentengan learning method. The mix-method, quantitative data and qualitative data are described based on the research findings. It involves as many as 298 students at various levels; Elementary School (ES), Junior High School (JHS), and Senior High School (SHS) and nine teachers. Data analysis using ANCOVA. The results showed that there was no significant increase in learning outcomes at all levels (sig. 0.020 <α). There is a significant difference in the learning of students who get Sundanese local wisdom-based learning methods at each level (ES, JHS and SHS). Based on the comparison between ES and JHS (Sig = 0.079> α), can be concluded that the learning method is not effective to be applied in junior high schools. Then, between ES and SHS (Sig = 0.006 < α) so it can be concluded that the learning method is effective to be applied in elementary schools. The last comparison is between JHS and JHS or vice versa (Sig = 0.079> 0.314> α), can be concluded that the learning method is not effective to be applied in SHS. Therefore, this method is most effective at the primary level. We find that this learning method can improve student learning outcomes at all levels. Learning methods using local wisdom are effective enough to improve student learning outcomes. Thus, this method can be implemented more broadly. Still, it needs to be developed in the future. It does not rule out the possibility of learning methods based on local wisdom can be combined with technological advances.</p>
AbstrakStudi kuasi ini dilaksanakan di SDN Cihaurgeulis 2 Bandung pada tahun ajaran 2011-2012 dengan tujuan untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan bahan ajar bernuansa literasi sains dalam model pembelajaran IPA terpadu untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA dan keterampilan berinkuiri siswa SD khususnya kelas 3. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan disain yang disebut nonequivalent kontrol group design, yang menggunakan satu kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional dan satu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran IPA terpadu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPA (N-gain=0,60) dan keterampilan berinkuiri (0,65) siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas control dengan N-Gain pemahaman konsep IPA sebesar 0,34 dan N-Gain keterampilan berinkuiri siswa sebesar 0,30. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPA dan keterampilan berinkuiri siswa kelas eksperimen selain dipengaruhi oleh model pembelajaran IPA terpadu yang diterapkan, juga dipengaruhi oleh tingkat klasifikasi kemampuan siswa (tinggi, sedang, rendah). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, diharapkan agar ada penelitian lanjutan berkenaan dengan pembentukan sikap ilmiah melalui pembelajaran tematik serta penelitian untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar tematik yang memiliki peranan penting dalam keberhasilan siswa dalam pembelajaran. AbstractThis quasi-experimental research was conducted at SDN Cihaurgeulis 2 Bandung in the 2011-2012 school year to assess the use of teaching materials with the literacy nuance of Integrated IPA Learning model to improve understanding the concept of IPA and students inquiry skills in third grade in primary school. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with design that is called nonequivalent control group design, using one control class with conventional learning and one experimental class using model of integrated IPA learning. The results showed that the improvement of understanding the concept of IPA (N-gain = 0.60) and students' inquiry skills (0.65) in experimental class were higher than in control class with N-Gain understanding concepts of IPA of 0.34 and N-Gain students' inquiry skills of 0.30. the improvement of understanding the concept of IPA and students inquiry skills of the experimental class, in addition influenced by integrated IPA learning model that was implemented also influenced by the classification level of student ability (high, medium, low). Based on the results of research conducted, it is expected that there is further research regarding the establishment of a scientific attitude through thematic learning and research to develop thematic teaching materials that have an important role in students success in learning.
