BackgroundPsoriasis is a multigenic and multifactorial dermatological disease linked to cardiovascular diseases. Increased levels of homocysteine in patients with psoriasis have been demonstrated in many studies. The most frequently investigated genetic defect that plays a role in homocysteine metabolism is single point substitution (C to T) located on the 677th nucleotide of the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase gene (MTHFR).ObjectiveIn this study, we aimed to investigate methylenetetrahydrofolate C677T polymorphism in psoriasis patients in Turkey.MethodsThe study included 96 patients with psoriasis and 77 controls from southern Turkey. Methylenetetrahydrofolate C677T polymorphism was analysed using the Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism methods.ResultsIn the psoriasis group, 34 CC (35.4%), 46 CT (47.9%) and 16 TT (16.7%) genotypes were found, respectively; while in the control group, the figures were 39 (50.6%), 35 (45.5%), 3 (3.9%). Homozygote and heterozygote T alleles of methylenetetrahydrofolate C677T polymorphism were significantly higher in the psoriasis than in the control group (p=0.013).ConclusionWe firstly found a correlation between methylenetetrahydrofolate C677T polymorphism and psoriasis among the southern Turkish population.
ÖZETBu araştırmanın amacı, okulöncesi dönemde okula uyum sürecinde uygulanan stratejiler ve karşılaşılan sorunlar hakkında öğretmen görüşlerinin incelemektir. Ayrıca okula uyum sürecinde devlet okullarında uygulanan stratejiler ile özel okullarda uygulanan stratejiler arasında farklılık olup olmadığı da belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda; nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden tipik durum çalışması yoluyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu beşi devlet kurumunda, beşi özel kurumda görev yapan 10 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğretmenler okula uyum süreci ile ilgili en çok "güven kazanma" etkinlikleri yaptıkları belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin çoğu uyum sürecinde en önemli unsurun ilgi çekici etkinlikler ve tanışma etkinlikleri yapmak olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir. Uyum sürecinde yaşanan sorunlar ile ilgili soruya, öğretmenler en çok aile faktörünün etkili olduğu ifade etmişlerdir. Devlet kurumlarında en çok aşırı koruyucu-hoşgörülü aile tutumuyla karşılaşılırken, özel kurumlar da ise aşırı koruyucu aile tutumu ile birlikte kararsız aile tutumuna da sık rastlanmıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Okul öncesi, okula uyum, okul öncesi öğretmen TEACHERS' VIEWS REGARDING OF PROCESS ADAPTATION TO SCHOOL IN THE PRESCHOOL PERIOD ABSTRACTIt is aimed to investigate the teachers' views regarding the problems encountered and the strategies applied within the process of students' adaptation to school in the preschool period. In addition it is attempted to determine whether there is a difference between the strategies applied in public schools and private schools within the process of adaptation to school. For this purpose the research was carried out through typical case work. The study group of the research consists of 10 preschool teachers, five of whom work in public school and the other five teachers work in private schools. Within the research the data was obtained through semi-structured interview technique. The teachers stated that they made activities mostly about "gaining trust" regarding adaptation process. Most of the teachers uttered that the most important factor within the adaptation process is making interesting activities and meeting activities. Concerning the question about the problems encountered within the adaptation process, the teachers stated that mostly the family factor was effective. While over protective-tolerant family attitude was encountered in public schools, over protective attitude was encountered in private institutions together with indecisive attitude.Key Words: Preschool, school adaptation, preschool teacher * Dr. Öğr.
