O Transtorno de Espectro Autista (TEA) faz parte da categoria de transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento e tem como principais características, prejuízo persistente na comunicação social recíproca e na interação interpessoal. Em face dos prejuízos nas relações sociais buscam-se formas alternativas e atrativas para que essa barreira relacional seja rompida, sendo a musicoterapia uma dessas técnicas. Este artigo teve como objetivo investigar das contribuições oferecidas pela musicoterapia às crianças com TEA que frequentam uma instituição da cidade de Manaus. Esta pesquisa teve uma abordagem quantitativa, caráter descritivo e de campo, utilizando-se como instrumento o questionário. Quanto aos resultados foi verificado que a música acalma, melhora a comunicação, mitiga movimentos estereotipados e auxilia no desenvolvimento motor e afetivo das crianças com TEA. Os resultados comprovam que a musicoterapia colabora para melhoria do desenvolvimento físico, social e emocional da criança com TEA, fato que reflete positivamente nas relações familiares, escolares e sociais.
