The location of some streets in the definition of urban architecture has a function like map legends. In the Erzurum city structuring, "Cumhuriyet Caddesi" has undertaken such a task since the year 415 when the city was founded. The street, which had oval lines in the Eastern Roman period, was used as a city square between Tabrizkapisi and Caferiye Mosque under the rule of Saltukoğulları, and witnesses of building art were erected on both sides. We understand that the Ilkhanians extend the street to the Erzincankapı-Mumcu direction from the examples of building art that have survived until today. During the first planned reconstruction of Suleiman the Magnificent in 1535, the first fortification wall that protected the city grew beyond the fortification gates in both the east and west sides. The planned construction made by the Ottoman State connected all the other streets of the city to this street and moved it to the center of Beylerbeyi Palace to the south of Lalapaşa Mosque. During the Ottoman period, the physics of Cumhuriyet Street were renewed many times due to the developing technology and changes in preference. Under the rule of the Young Republic, the street crossed Çaykara Creek to the west with the 1938 Lambert plan and directed its center of gravity to the "Havuzbaşı" intersection. Cumhuriyet Caddesi, which has been repeated with some changes until today, offers the summary of the architectural construction of the city of Erzurum.
The Turkish House, which constitutes a very important part of the Anatolian art of construction, has developed and enriched by showing functional and architectural differences in different regions. One of the areas where the traditional Turkish house gained shape is the Erzurum region in the east of Anatolia. Traditional housing; was produced as a result of the social, cultural and economic structure of the society, technology level, lifestyle and philosophy, aesthetic concerns, naturestructure and structure doğa human relations. The urban fabric consisting of traditional dwellings and traditional dwellings strengthens the social ties of the society with its spatial and urban structures on the human scale and ensures the continuation of the social ties with the human environment. Traditional Turkish house; Compliance with life, nature, environmental conditions, realism, rationality, solution from the inside out, inner outer harmony (the sincerity inside the house and the expression of simplicity inside the house), consistency is formed from the principles of formation. The traditional Erzurum house, adhering to the upper class of the Turkish house, brought different plans and architectural practices and influenced many regions around it, enriching the traditional Anatolian house. The traditional Erzurum house shows a unique plan analysis by differentiating it from the other regional houses with the implementation of the plan with tandırev. Tandırevi is the determinant of the plan implementation as the most important volume of design (Plan 1,2). The sofa, which is generally decisive in the classification of residences, appears on the upper floors of Erzurum houses. Erzurum houses; adhering to the criterion of haremlik-selamlik, has a two-storey detached plan with garden, barn and pasture. There have been many important factors affecting the construction, plan, number, artisticity and sustainability of traditional Erzurum houses. These factors; geographic, geological, political, economic, natural disasters and interaction areas can be identified under different headings (Table 1). There are 140 of the 224 traditional Erzurum houses identified in the city center of Erzurum. 84 houses are determined by both written sources and verbal transmission. Existing houses; The original houses are the ones that have survived to the present day with the main structure being preserved, the houses that have been restored, the houses that have been completely destroyed by the repairs and alterations, and the houses that are in derelict condition. It can be seen that the early examples of traditional Erzurum houses were examples of houses made in the 18th century and the classical ones in the first three quarters of the 19th century and the last period in which the traditional style was disrupted until the end of the 19th century and the middle of the 20th century. The main material of traditional Erzurum houses is stone. Both the inner and outer walls of the ground floor and the outer walls of the upper floor are generally made of...
Haşim Bey’in esasen en önemli bağışı, düzenli orduya yaptığı yardımlardır.
