Character Education remains an educational priority in a variety of situations and conditions, including during the covid-19 pandemic. The urgency of character education cannot be ignored, especially in the midst of the development of technology and information that is increasingly advanced. Interaction between human beings began to be replaced by the presence of technology such as online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, character education during this pandemic should be a top priority. This study seeks to examine the problems faced by educators in character education in universities in the perspective of Religious Education lecturers. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive by collecting data through observation, online interviews, and documentation studies. This research data is sourced from lecturers of Religious Education in universities. The results of this study show that the problem of student character education during the covid-19 pandemic with online learning model, is limited interaction between lecturers and students. Restriction of physical direct contact causes lecturers to be less maximal in character learning. In addition, the ability to use information technology and the availability of internet networks are also obstacles. Similarly, the seriousness of students in following online learning is a common problem in character learning during the covid-19 pandemic.
This research aim to exploring the correlation between emotional quotient and family environment on the teacher performance. Emotional quotient and family environment are two psychological and sociological strengths which influence someone's behaviour and attitude. This research involves teachers of Civic Education in high schools in North Sulawesi. Data are collected from the questionnaires distributed to 61 teachers and 183 students by using a multistage sampling technique. Data are analysed in descriptive and inferential methods using multiple regression and correlation analysis. The finding shows that the emotional quotient and family environment have a positive correlation with teacher performance. Teachers with stable emotional quotient, calm attitude, and ability to control emotion can perform their professional work well. Also, a conducive family environment can improve teacher performance to work professionally. This research has implications for the recruitment and teacher management systems. This research recommends that teacher recruitment put more emphasis on emotional quotient in addition to the intellectual quotient. Schools also need to develop some activities which aim at strengthening the bond among schools, homes and families.
The purpose of this study is to determine the role of religious elites in fostering the younger generation to increase the harmony of life among religious believers. By this research social conflict can be minimized, and knowing what factors cause the potential for harmony and the potential for non-harmony or social conflict in the life of a pluralistic society in North Sulawesi. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method. Moreover, data collection techniques are interview techniques, literature studies, and documentation. The results of the study show that the role of the religious elite in fostering the younger generation to increase inter-religious harmony is quite useful. This is evidenced by changes in the attitudes and mentality of the young generation so far there have been no fights between youths of different religions and tribes. To prevent potential conflicts between religious communities and especially the younger generation, religious leaders and leaders through the BKSAUA communication forum are always anticipatory and play an active role in carrying out dialogue and collaboration to discuss social issues, especially those that lead to racial problems. The harmony can be maintained so that the community can live together, side by side with one another, respect and respect, uphold the values of kinship with the spirit of "Torang Samua Basudara".
Masa remaja merupakan masa dimana seorang individu mengalami peralihan dari satu tahap ke tahap yang berikutnya dan mengalami perubahan baik emosi, tubuh, minat, pola perilaku, dan juga penuh dengan masalah-masalah. Remaja merupakan masa peralihan antara anak-anak dan dewasa, Remaja mulai mencoba-coba bertindak dan berperilaku seperti orang dewasa, misalnya: merokok, minum-minuman keras, menggunaka obat-obatan, dan lain-lain.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kepedulian pemerintah desa dalam menanggulagi kenakalan remaja, dana apa saja yang menjadi faktor terjadinya kenakalan remaja de desa Balahu Kecamatan Tibawa Kabupaten Gorontalo. Metode yang digunakana adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif yaitu penulis menggambarkan secara jelas dengan data yang diperoleh dilapangan.Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan para informan yang ada menunjukkan bahwa penyebab terjadinya kenalakan remaja di Desa Balahu yaitu: kurangnya perhatian Pemerintah desa, karena pemerintah desa lebih mengutamakan pembangunan infrasturuktur ketimbang pembangunan pembentukkan karakter pemuda di masa pertumbuhannya. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kurangnya perhatian pemerintah desa terhadap pembentukan karakter generasi muda, karena pemerintah desa lebih mementingkan permbangunan infrastruktur desa.
