ABSTRACTThis study has three goals. Those are; to investigate i. the relationship between starting age of digital games and age of using (having) a phone, and phone and game addiction, ii. the impact of game and phone addiction on academic success and iii. the validity and reliability of the developed phone and game addiction scales. In order to achieve these goals, data is collected from 446 university students by utilizing a standard questionnaire. As a result of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis carried out, it is seen that the scale of the game addiction has two dimensions (desire and ambition), the scale of phone addiction has four dimensions (internet, deprivation, communication and freedom), and both scales are valid and reliable. Results of the structural equation analysis reveal that there is a strong negative relationship between the age of starting to play games and using (having) a phone, and the game and phone addiction. It is also determined that as the starting age of playing digital game decreases, the level of addiction increases. Although the effect of phone addiction on academic success (duration of studying and overall academic average) is relatively low in comparison with the game addiction, both have 1 Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi, İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi, İşletme Bölümü, hbulbul@ohu.edu.tr, https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8696-1990 2 Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, tarkan.
Demand fluctuations and irregular production evolved as a result of these fluctuations are an important problem for manufacturers. In this study, problems such as high production costs caused by seasonal demand fluctuations and inability of delivering orders on time to the customer are analyzed in the case of a manufacturing firm. The proposal of utilizing production full capacity every month and storing produced goods without brand labels printed on to reduce the production costs was discussed.
Marketing innovation is extremely important for companies to create an advantage, especially in highly competitive industries. Because high competition requires the ability to make accurate and timely innovations to keep up with the rapid change. Innovation has a positive effect on profitability and performance, but it is very difficult to ensure its continuity. Loyalty, on the other hand, is the result of intense efforts that require long periods, unlike innovation. Loyalty is very important for companies to live longer under heavy competition. While innovation plays an important role in influencing consumer trends, loyalty is about maintaining those trends. Managing frequently changing customer preferences correctly and achieving this by creating loyalty is the biggest challenge for companies. This research examines the interaction between innovative activities, which are fast and represent change, and customer loyalty, which takes long and difficult processes to create, in a large-scale company operating in the chemical industry, through the concepts of image and satisfaction. The results show that the direct effect of marketing innovation on loyalty is not significant, but the effects over image and satisfaction mediators are significant. The research confirms the mediating role of image and satisfaction in the innovation-loyalty relationship.
Projects and processes are powerful strategic management means. They play a significant role in the implementation of strategies and in gaining a competitive advantage by using them as a lever. Projects and processes are based on two operationally complementary strong wills (founding and operating will) and strategic-level decisions based on this will. Projects are used to create processes as an output. Processes, on the other hand, support the key indicators of the firm's vital functions. The two approaches are examined together in terms of their mutually supportive contributions to the realization of strategic goals. Developing project and process competencies strengthen competitive muscles. Effective projects and improved processes bring the business closer to its goals. Success emerges thanks to the positive effects of project and process outputs on key performance indicators. In the study, project and process realms are defined, their similarities and differences are emphasized and their functions in terms of strategic management are explained. In addition, it is aimed to clarify the transition zone between the realms and to raise awareness for making the right decisions to achieve greater gains. In this context, decision criteria for determining project and process priorities are presented to firms. Thus, a link will be established between the strategies and these realms, the sustainability of the competitive advantage will be ensured and the synergy created will contribute to the realization of the strategic goals of the firm.
