Os designers, em sua responsabilidade enquanto projetistas, devem pensar sobre como desenvolver sistemas de comunicação ou qualquer outro elemento de informação e/ou ambientação que atenda as pessoas com deficiências e/ou restrições, incluindo a forma como uma pessoa totalmente habilitada utiliza este sistema e/ou ambiente. Esta é a base do Design Universal, o que significa que um bom projeto deve satisfazer as necessidades de todos os grupos ao invés de satisfazer apenas as de alguns. Desta forma, este artigo visa apresentar os resultados obtidos até o momento com a pesquisa denominada Avaliação da Acessibilidade em Sistemas Informacionais para Contribuição Metodológica no Desenvolvimento de Projetos de Sinalização. Os resultados são apresentados através de informação textual, tabelas e infográficos produzidos pelo NDGA – Núcleo de Design Gráfico Ambiental composto por professores e acadêmicos do Departamento de Design e Expressão Gráfica da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.
É possível inferir o vasto campo de investigação do conhecimento existente na natureza. O presente trabalho delimita-se quanto ao uso da biomimética como ferramenta para a geração de alternativas, durante a fase de projeto conceitual. Foi realizada a identificação de alguns princípios de solução da natureza, matemáticos/geométricos e/ou funcionais, que possam ser devidamente reconhecidos através dos padrões existentes, visando sua aplicabilidade no desenvolvimento de produtos. Como fundamentação teórica necessária para o desenvolvimento do presente trabalho, há dois principais focos de pesquisa. O primeiro deles está relacionado à metodologia de projeto de produto, mais precisamente à fase conceitual, na qual ocorre o processo criativo ou a geração de soluções alternativas. O segundo ponto abordado se refere ao biomimetismo e ao conhecimento dos princípios de solução da natureza como um todo, contemplando simultaneamente seus padrões geométricos, matemáticos e funcionais.
A presente pesquisa objetiva propor uma metodologia que oriente o projeto de interface de ambiente virtual centrado no usuário que seja sistematizada como processo de produto com princípios de design de interação, considerando aspectos de usabilidade e ergonomia, de modo a favorecer o trabalho do usuário, permitindo a apropriação do conteúdo e a execução das tarefas através das funcionalidades do sistema. Para consecução do trabalho foram investigados: os elementos da experiência do usuário; as ferramentas de planejamento de produto; as técnicas engenharia de software; e os conceitos do design de interação. A validação da metodologia foi feita através do projeto de interface do módulo do desenvolvedor (professor/instrutor) do HyperCalGD online. A interface projetada apresentou melhores condições para o desenvolvimento de materiais educacionais.
