O artigo analisa o modelo de cooperação no desenvolvimento de mísseis estabelecido entre Reino Unido e França, tendo como foco apresentar um breve histórico, implicações e perspectivas da produção do míssil de cruzeiro Storm Shadow/Scalp-EG, com ênfase no lado britânico da parceria. Considerando que o desenvolvimento de capacidade missilística é estratégico, especialmente para a dissuasão, o estudo deste modelo cooperativo se faz relevante. O caso ilustra a busca por arranjos eficientes em termos econômicos como motivação central, de forma a possibilitar a atualização de capacidades missilísticas ante situação de orçamento restrito e de redefinição do mercado de produtos de defesa.
