The commission sales form is a very significant channel of sales today, which is especially true in the field of dietary supplements. In parallel, the prevailing digitalization trends have opened up further new opportunities for this form of distribution. The multi-level optimization process presented in the publication makes it possible to optimize the distribution logistics processes of companies producing food supplements at a high level by exploiting these new possibilities. The operation of the procedure is also illustrated through a practical example.
Consignment sales are a special case of supply chains, as the products are never the property of the seller, so the distribution logistics network and the logic of the structure of the products are radically different from those of normal supply chains. Another problem is that the products have a shelf life. The inventory mechanism (qmin; qmax) is most often used for the commissioned stocks of companies producing food supplements and when checking the central inventory, i.e. replenishment to the maximum stock level when a certain stock level is reached. There are several factors to consider when filling up commission stocks and reviewing them by period. With the mathematical correlations of these factors, it is possible to distribute the commissioned finished products optimally. The paper deals with this problem.
A bizományosan értékesítő étrend-kiegészítőket gyártó és értékesítő kis- és középvállalkozások ellátási láncának kialakítása, működtetése nagy hatással van a versenyképességre, mivel jelentős mértékben befolyásolja azt, hogy az egyedi vevői igények milyen módon (minőség, határidő, költség) kerülnek kielégítésre. Az elmúlt évtizedekben az étrend-kiegészítők iránt jelentősen megnőtt a piaci kereslet, melyet a 2020-tól kialakult pandémiás helyzet tovább erősített, ezzel egy időben napjainkban meghatározó digitalizációs trendek további új lehetőségeket nyitottak meg ezen típusú ellátási láncok disztribúció formája előtt. A publikációban bemutatásra kerülő többszintű optimalizáló eljárás ezen új lehetőségek kiaknázásával teszi lehetővé a bizományosan értékesítő étrend-kiegészítőket gyártó vállalatok elosztási logisztikai folyamatainak magas szintű optimalizálását.
The publication presents a novel supplier selection method that can be of significant help in the optimal design of the supply chains of so-called commissioned food supplement companies. As a prelude to this, the article also explores the literature on existing supplier selection methods using the method of systematic literature search. A key characteristic of the newly developed method is that it incorporates such aspects into the supplier selection process as the environmental impact of logistics processes or the modernity of the supplier’s logistics system, both becoming highly important criteria in recent years. The method also supports one and multi actor decision making following state of the art principles in modern data driven supply chain management. As a result, it can be stated that the newly introduced method provides a state of the art approach to supplier selection, while it also takes into account all the traditional aspects related to the field.
Literature analyzes show that there are a huge number of supplier selection methods in a wide variety of fields, however, there is little literature on medicine or dietary supplements. Among these publications, there is no developed method that would provide a general solution for the selection of a supplier of all food supplement companies. Some of the methods do not take into account quality parameters (eg. concentration, transport error rate, etc.) and others do not take into account aspects related to environmental protection, the importance of which is becoming more and more important nowadays. In the dissertation, a general decision-making method for the selection of suppliers of food supplement manufacturing companies is presented, which takes into account the logistical and environmental parameters in both qualitative and quantitative terms. The method presented in the dissertation is described through an example.
