Résumé « Quelques conséquences psychiques de la différence anatomique entre les sexes » (Freud, 1925) est un texte qui vient signifier une « coupure » dans la réflexion de Freud sur la théorie sexuelle, telle qu’elle est retrouvée dans les ajouts des éditions successives des Trois essais (Freud, 1905, 1910, 1920 et 1924). Les auteurs mettent en perspective ce remaniement de la conception de la féminité avec les éléments apportés par la publication de deux biographies d’Anna Freud, étayées par des documents inédits. L’analyse d’Anna par son père peut-elle être tenue pour responsable de changements théoriques qui opéreraient chez Freud comme déni des motions oedipiennes ? La persistance de l’attachement au père n’est devenue qu’ « une formation en quelque sorte secondaire ». Innocentant le père comme la fille, le texte de 1925 reporte sur le seul réel anatomique du manque de pénis toute la responsabilité d’un oedipe féminin salvateur, qui n’évolue pas vers sa dissolution.
