Supernumerary nostril is a very rare congenital anomaly, which includes additional nostril with or without accessory cartilage. In the present case of the left supernumerary nostril, a small cavity of around 3 mm diameter and accessory lower lateral cartilage were present. The cavity was lined with mucous membrane and filled with mucoid discharge .Nasal endoscopy of accessory nasal cavity revealed that it was small as compared to normal nasal cavity and did not communicate with the ipsilateral nasal cavity. The diameter of the normal anterior nasal opening was less on left side as compared to right side. Unilateral supernumerary nostril may occur because of the fissuring of the lateral nasal process during fetal growth.
BACKGROUNDSphenoid sinus is an important structure located in the body of the sphenoid bone. It is separated from critical surrounding structures like optic nerve and chiasm, cavernous sinus, pituitary gland and internal carotid artery by a thin bony lamella. Because of its location and close relation to these important anatomical structures, diagnosis and treatment of sphenoid sinus pathologies are very challenging. In the era of endoscopic approach to the sphenoid sinus and skull base, the detailed knowledge of anatomy of sphenoid sinus and its closely related structures is mandatory. The objective of this study is, in this study we concentrated on the variations in the anatomy of sphenoid septa in terms of number and attachment to the nearby structures with the help of computed tomography.
This study was conducted to determine the frequency of ossicular chain pathology in case of CSOM (Tubotympanic type). 100 cases of CSOM (Tubotympanic type) were admitted in E.N.T. department for surgery. Per-operative we found ossicular chain erosion as well as tympanosclerosis of ossicles. In our study we found long process and lenticular process are the most susceptible for erosion and malleo incudal joint more commonly involved by the tympanosclerosis.
Aims: Succulents are on the rising trend of popularity due to its compromising behaviour with watering and durability indoors, creating a peaceful and healthy living condition. Thus it is the need of the hour to find a suitable propagation method or use of exogenous substances with propagation to assist regenerating new plants. Study Design: The experiment was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) with three replications.
Place and Duration of Study:The present investigation entitled Effect of IAA and IBA Application on leaf cuttings of Mexican Snow Ball (Echeveria elegans).
Catherine D’Ignazio and Lauren F.Klein in their book Data Feminism argue that data models reflect existing power structures and social hierarchies. We aim to test this hypothesis in India on Instagram. Instagram is one of the most accessible and politically engaging social media platforms in India which makes its data models appropriate subjects for our study. The research question of our study is “Do Instagram data models disproportionately prioritise accounts that publish majoritarian feminist content over intersectional feminist content in India?” The paper employs two methodological approaches; an experimental set-up under controlled setting for primary data collection through a positivist sociological approach kept under time bound observational study and secondary data qualitative analysis. This paper first analyses the biases and preconceived notions which cloud digital data models. It further elaborates upon the concept of Data Justice which acknowledges historical inequalities and power differentials amongst communities that drive data collection. The paper attempts to test this hypothesis through an experiment. The experiment includes creation of two Instagram accounts dedicated to two different forms of feminism. Account “A” would publish content ascribing to popular feminist ideals i.e. non-intersectional and Account “B” would publish intersectional feminist content. The creation of new accounts is critical for establishing a causal relationship between data models and disparity in accounts growth, as a pre-established follower count would affect the accounts engagement. For a period of three months, both the accounts will employ the same strategies to increase user engagement/reach. The impact of these strategies on metrics such as follower count, post likes, post reshares, post comments, profile visits, frequency and duration of story views, and duration of post visibility would be documented through a weekly monitoring system. The data collected......
OBJECTIVE: we are presenting a rare case of cavernous haemangioma of parapharyngeal space. CASE REPORT: 30 years old female presented with two non-reducible, compressible, soft swelling in neck and on posterolateral wall of right side of oropharynx. On examination we found a bluish colour swelling present on oropharynx. USG shows 11×25×32 mm well defined lesion present on neck along with another soft swelling present in submandibular region. Patient was explained regarding the further investigation and treatment but she did not turn up. CONCLUSION: cavernous haemangioma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a parapharyngeal mass. It may also extend to anterior triangle of neck.
