Research objective was to find effect of local culture-problem-based learning method application with used GeoGebra in mathematics learning for senior high school students. Type of this research was quasi-experiment research with post-test only group design. Research sample used three learning class that was chosen by purposive sampling method and was selected from senior high school in Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. Students in experiment-I class was taught with local culture-problem based learning used GeoGebra, students in experiment-II class was taught with problem-based learning and students in control class taught with conventional learning method. Data was analysed with descriptive and inferential through one way-ANAVA test then continued with Tuckey test if data had normal and homogenic distribution, if data had abnormal and/or heterogenic distribution then it was analysed with Kruskal-Wallis test and continued with Mann-Whitney U-Test. Research result showed average value of students’ statistical thinking ability test from experiment-I class higher than experiment-II and control class. Based on this research result, then mathematic teachers on senior high school were suggested to applicate local culture-problem based learning with GeoGebra method in mathematics learning and developed mathematic matters which close to students’ local culture experience.
This research aimed to calculate the increase of students’ mathematics critical thinking ability in Senior High School who taught with Flip-Problem Based Learning based on LMS-Google Classroom. This research is quasi-experiment research used pre-test post-test control group design research. Sample in this research is 60 students divided into two research groups, 30 students in the experiment group (taught with Flip-Problem Based Learning) and 30 students in the control group (taught with Problem-Based Learning). The homogeneity test and normality data test used Levenes’ test and Kolmogorov Smirnov test. The result of the homogeneity test and normality data test is homogenous and distributed normally. Based on the result of the homogeneity test and normality data test, hence the hypothesis research test used Independent Sample T-Test. The test result showed that mathematical critical thinking ability for students’ Senior High School who taught with Flip-Problem Based Learning based on LMS-Google Classroom. The result proved that the mathematics learning process of Flip-Problem Based Learning has a positive and significant effect on students’ mathematics critical thinking ability. Based on this research result, Flip-Problem Based Learning was recommended to be applied in mathematics learning. LMS-Google Classroom can also be one of the solutions in mathematics learning based on digital.
This research stems from the writer's curiosity about the difference of spatial intelligence between male and female students in SMA YPK Medan. The purpose of this research was to describe data of the difference of spatial intelligence between male and female students. This research was a comparative causal research. The sample of this research were 65 students of SMA YPK Medan, which consisted of 32 were female students and 33 were male students. Data to be collected in this research was the data of student's spatial intelligence which were grouped, i.e. the data of female students spatial intelligence and the data of male students spatial intelligence. The data were collected then analyzed by independent samples t-test in SPSS program. From result of SPSS obtained data Sig 0,02 < 0,05. Based on the result of data analysis could be conluded that there were the difference of spatial intelligence between male and female students in SMA YPK Medan. The average spatial intelligence of male students were 27,06 higher than the average spatial intelligence of female students were 26,76. Then it could be concluded the spatial intelligence of male students better than the spatial intelligence of female students. PENDAHULUANHasil penelitian PISA tahun 2006 (dalam Purwanti, 2013) menyatakan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan matematika siswa lakilaki lebih tinggi 17 poin daripada siswa perempuan. Dimana rata-rata kemampuan siswa laki-laki mencapai skor 399 dan siswa perempuan mencapai skor 382. Berdasarkan hal ini, berarti terdapat kecenderungan perbedaan kemampuan laki-laki dan perempuan dalam hasil belajar, terutama dalam bidang matematika dan sains.Perbedaan tersebut disebabkan oleh faktor psikologis. Secara psikologis, laki-laki dan perempuan memiliki banyak perbedaan terkait inetelegensi, minat, bakat, motivasi, kematangan atau kesiapan. Kartono (1989) berpendapat bahwa pada intinya perempuan hampir tidak pernah mempunyai ketertarikan yang menyeluruh pada soal teoritis seperti laki-laki, perempuan lebih tertarik pada hal yang praktis daripada teoritis. This research aimed to developed of student worksheet and statistical thinking ability test instrument for Senior High School's student based on local culture and accordance with the provisions of Curriculum 2013 in North Sumatera, Indonesia. The special purpose of this research was to analyze and to formula the purpose of mathematics lesson in statistical thinking ability and also to develop to try out the students worksheets based on local culture developed. Subjects in this study were eleventh grade students of Senior High School. This research was a development research using 4D type created by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel. The development process of these research consists of four phases: define phase, design phase, development phase, and disseminate phase. From the preliminary reserach results, we obtain that student worksheet and test instruments of statistical thinking ability based on local culture and accordande with Curriculum 2013 were valid, practice and effective to be use in mathematics learning at Senior High School
Penelitian ini berawal dari masalah di SMP Al Ulum Medan yaitu rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Kurangnya efektivitas pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan menjadi penyebab rendahnya kemampuan tersebut. Sehingga penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk melihat kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa setelah mendapatkan model pembelajaran inquiry berbantuan kalkulator. Penelitian ini tergolong penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain yang digunakan pretest posttest control of group design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Januari 2019 sampai dengan Maret 2019. Penelitian ini memiliki 64 siswa SMP Al Ulum Medan sebagai sampel yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Kelas eksperimen mendapat pembelajaran inquiry berbantuan kalkulator, sedangkan kelas kontrol mendapat pembelajaran biasa. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan anava satu jalur pada program SPSS. Hasil perhitungan SPSS menunjukkan nilai sig 0,037 < 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran inquiry berbantuan kalkulator lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa.
