Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa. Hal ini dikarenakan suatu konsep yang dipahami akan mengantarkan siswa pada proses pembelajaran yang bermakna. Namun berdasarkan beberapa hasil penelitian yang pernah dilakukan oleh peneliti lainnya menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa masih rendah. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis adalah dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran guided inquiry pada proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis antara siswa yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran guided inquiry lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran secara konvensional. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan tipe penelitian non equivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII C - VIII I SMP Negeri 16 Kota Tangerang Selatan. Adapun sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII F sebagai kelas kontrol dengan banyak siswa ada 37 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis berbentuk essai. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Pengujian hipotesis dengan uji parametrik (uji t equivalent). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa besarnya rata-rata peningkatan antara siswa yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran guided inquiry lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran secara konvensional. ABSTRACT The ability of understanding mathematical concepts is one of the abilities that must be possessed by students. This is because a concept that is understood will lead the students to a meaningful learning process. However, based on some research results that have been done by other researchers show that the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students is still low. One effort to improve the ability of understanding mathematical concepts is to apply guided inquiry learning method in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the average increase in the ability of understanding of mathematical concepts between students using guided inquiry learning method is higher than students using conventional learning methods. The type of research used is quasi experiment with non equivalent type control group design research. The population in this study is the students of class VIII C - VIII I SMP Negeri 16 City Tangerang Selatan. The sample used is class VIII C as experimental class and VIII F as control class with many students there are 37 people. The sampling technique uses cluster sampling. The instrument used is essay writing essay writing. Data collection techniques use tests, observations, and documentation. Hypothesis testing with parametric test (t test equivalent). The results of this study indicate that the magnitude of the average increase between students using guided inquiry learning method is higher compared with students using conventional learning methods. Country with good education condition can be seen through its citizen scientific literacy. This research aims to improving the students’ scientific literacy ability by using discovery learning model at 7th grade students of State Junior High School 3 Ngronggot, Nganjuk-Indonesia. The instrument in this Kemmis and Taggart Model of Classroom Action Research was an essay test composed based on indicators developed by Gormaly. The results of the research showed that there were improvements on the students’ scientific literacy ability from cycle I to cycle II on six of seven indicators. Those improvements are as follows: Indentifying scientific opinion increased from 0% into 64.52%, reviewing literature effectively increased from 0% into 29.03%, understanding research design and the way how its effect to the finding/discussion increased from 14.29% into 19.35%, making graphic from the data correctly increased from 0% to 58.07%, solving problems using quantitative skill including operating basic statistics increased from 7.14% to 58.07%. However, in making inference, prediction and drawing conclusion based on quantitative data, the improvement was only on the students’ answer that got 1 score, it increased from 7.14% to 77.42%. In addition, for the indicator of understanding and interpreting basic statistic, it decreased from 21.43% to 12.90%.
Cervical cancer is the most common type of cancer in Balinese women, and most of the cervical cancer patients came in advanced condition. The health survey conducted in the village of Puhu, Payangan, Gianyar, found that the coverage of cervical cancer screening is 12%, which is considered as low. Payangan’s sub-district health centers (Puskesmas) have made an effort to give free PAP smear screenings to the local community, but it still has not received a good response. This is related to the community’s lack of knowledge on cervical cancer, low awareness of cancer screening, and false stigma about PAP smear examination. To overcome this problem, an effort is needed to increase awareness about the need for PAP smear screening by shaping it into a cervix cancer awareness movement "Gardavi", involving village midwives and housewife members of Empowerment and Family Welfare Group (PKK) in Puhu Village as cadres. Methods that are used in this community service include training for midwives, activation of tiered information system involving midwives-cadres and the community, knowledge provision as well as motivating cadres. This event is done to increase the role of village midwives and cadres to actively participate in PAP smear screenings in their region, therefore, it may increase screening outcomes and lower mother morbidity and mortality numbers due to cervical cancer. This event results in increased midwives’ knowledge and skill on the technique of sampling PAP smear independently, increased visits to the Community Health Sub-Center (Pustu) for PAP smear examination, creation of a midwives-cadres-community coordination system, cadres independently playing an active role in motivating the village community to do screening, as well as increased cadres’ optimism.
<p>Kemampuan dasar matematika sangatlah penting untuk siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD). Salah satunya adalah kemampuan melakukan operasi hitung bilangan. Kondisi di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD) tentang operasi hitung bilangan masih rendah. Hal ini terjadi karena aktivitas siswa di sekolah pada umumnya masih dibatasi oleh guru, sehingga membuat anak-anak menjadi cepat bosan saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Oleh karena itu, diperlukannya suatu suasana pembelajaran yang baru dengan berbantuan media sehingga dapat membuat pembelajaran menjadi menyenangkan serta membuat siswa lebih aktif. Salah satu media pembelajaran yang akan digunakan adalah <em>Games Memorize Card. </em>Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan <em>Games Memorize Card</em> serta pengaruh <em>Games Memorize Card</em> terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Adapun subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SD XYZ di Kabupaten Tangerang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik <em>purposive sampling</em>. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pra-eksperimen dengan menggunakan<em> one group pretest-posttest design</em>. Instrumen yang akan digunakan di dalam penelitian ini berupa tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji Wilcoxon dan menghitung nilai N-Gain. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa penggunaan <em>Games Memorize Card </em>mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas III SD pada operasi hitung bilangan.</p><p><em>Basic math skill is very important for elementary school students. One of them is ability to do number arithmetic operations. Based on the fact show that elementary school students learning outcomes about number arithmetic operations still low. This case happen because activity at school in general still limited by teacher, so that make children become easily bored when learning be held. Therefore, need a new learning environment with assisted media so it can make learning becomes fun and make students active. One of the media that will be used is Games Memorized Card. The purpose of this research for see the difference in learning outcomes before and after use Games Memorized Card and the influence of Games Memorized Card on student learning outcomes. As for the subject of this research is 3<sup>th</sup> grade students in XYZ elementary school in Tangerang district. The sampling technique had been used purposive sampling. This research is a pre-experimental design that used the one group pretest-posttest design. The instrument to be used in this research is test. The data analysis technique to be used are Wilcoxon test and calculate the value of N-Gain. The result of research obtained that use Games Memorized Card able to increase learning outcomes 3<sup>th</sup> grade students elementary school on the number arithmetic operations.</em></p>
