Urban areas in developing countries, such as Jakarta, have the potential to experience serious river water pollution problems. Pollution control is a measure to maintain water quality in waterways; therefore, this study aims to build a water quality model (based on BOD and DO parameter) in the Krukut River, Jakarta. The model can be used as a tool to simulate pollution control. This study applies the Streeter Phelps principle by adopting the system dynamics method. The research also includes social and economic aspects of the pollution control scenario. The Krukut River water quality model is valid because it has an absolute mean error (AME) values below 30%. In details, the AME value of each model are 0.7% for the population model, 7.05% for the BOD model, and 4.5% for the DO model. With community participation intervention in the sanitation sector, the simulation results of the model show an improvement in Krukut River water quality compared to the ‘business as usual’ simulation. However, this improvement still does not meet existing quality standards.
Abstract-This review paper describes the immobilization of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) on nanopolyaniline (PANI) by using self-assembly technique. Some chemically synthesized conductive polymers such as PANI were used as support for HRP immobilization. Enzymes immobilized were depend on their properties of immobilize of HRP such as optimum pH, thermal stability and storage stability and all these were investigated. The structure of PANI was characterized by FTIR, FESEM and UV-VIS. The structure of PANI depends on the pH of the phosphate buffer and the type of organic solvent. Thus, the formation of monolayer especially nano-particles of PANI was prepared by using Langmuir-Blodgett technique. The contribution in the development of the biosensor application for hydrogen peroxidase (H 2 O 2 ) based on the HRP modified electrode was described.
Jakarta, as a prominent urban area, has limitations of freshwater sources. Krukut River is one of the rivers used as a source of clean water in Jakarta. However, only the upper horizons of the river are utilized. This research aimed aims to understand the environmental and social aspects that have the potential to maintain Krukut River water quality. DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency in 2018 asserted that the BOD parameter value of Krukut River has increased along from upstream (4,16 mg/l) to downstream (11,57 mg/l) and exceeded the standards of raw water quality set by the government. By conducting a literature review, this research outlined the essential points of the environmental and social aspects that may be the basis of concept regarding the water quality improvement of the Krukut River. This research also calculate the BOD loads from population in Krukut River catchment area as one of the factors potentially contribute to river pollution The information obtained from this research was expected to be the cornerstone in analyzing river pollution control.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
